WW-Friendly Ways to Use Salsa for Easy, Healthy Meals and Snacks
Salsa has been one of my go-to WW friendly condiments for decades. It’s naturally low in fat and calories—and most store-bought or homemade salsas are Zero Points on Weight Watchers. It adds big flavor without adding points, which is why I always keep a jar (or two!) on hand.
While homemade salsa is wonderful, I usually turn to jarred salsa for convenience. There are so many varieties to choose from—mild to spicy, red or green, fruity or smoky, and everything in between.

Back in the early 1990s, when I first reached Lifetime status with Weight Watchers (before Points existed), the program included a list of “free” foods we could enjoy when our daily exchanges ran out. That’s when I discovered green beans with salsa as a quick, satisfying snack. It’s a combination I still love to this day.

Top WW-Friendly Salsa Ideas for Snacks and Meals
Whether you are looking for low-point snacks, easy lunches, or a shortcut to flavor-packed dinners, here are some of my favorite ways to use salsa:

- Mini sweet bell peppers
- Jicama sticks
- Rice cakes or light crackers
- Baked low-carb tortilla chips (like my Everything Bagel Seasoned Low Carb Chips)

2. Mix with Cottage Cheese

6. Top Your Protein
Use salsa as a low-calorie topping for grilled or broiled chicken, fish, pork, shrimp, or even eggs.

7. Stir into Cooked Veggies
Jazz up steamed green beans, zucchini, or cauliflower rice with a spoonful of salsa.
8. Add to Scrambled Eggs or Omelets
Salsa and eggs are a natural pair—perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.
9. Sauce for Pasta or Zoodles
Use salsa as a low-point pasta sauce or to dress up zucchini noodles, spaghetti squash, or cauliflower rice.
