I Have Lost 30 Pounds and I Feel Wonderful - 60 More to Go!
I have lost 30 lbs and I feel wonderful. 60 more to go. I am not following any sort of plan; just eating healthy - salads, steamed and roasted vegetables, lentils, lean fish and chicken, very little beef. Fruit and an occasional treat like reduced fat, stevia-sweetened banana bread (homemade) or a tiny bowl of spumoni (I am Italian).

My Italian heritage was doing a happy dance while eating dinner. My husband, the picky eater, couldn't believe how Old World it tasted. It was something my grandmother or mom would have made.
Healthy and good for you it did not taste. Anything I can fix in one of my 3 slow cooker is fine by me. This recipe is now a recipe card in the front of my box. I just had to thank you for sharing!!

I have not rejoined WW yet..I joined back in 1972, or so, when it came out and only needed to loose 10 lbs. I have seen many changes since then.

Martha - thank you so much for your inspiration! I've been doing Weight Watchers since October 1. Hitting some roadblocks cuz of health issues but pressing on.
I'm starting a 30 day gratitude accountability "experiment" with my massage therapist and thinking with all the reading I've been doing, that gratitude is a universal and Christian principle that helps us with many things we're dealing with in life.
I'm hoping gratitude will help me with my weight loss goals. I think it might be why God asks us to be thankful for everything; our food, the fact that we have an appetite and can eat, the fact that we can cook and even for the body he gave us.

Hi Martha - I get ideas from recipes and always end up doing my own thing. But I love making food in large batches, cooking one full day a week. I then freeze some and when I have nothing in the refrigerator, I head to the freezer.

I was finally able to start back to WW in mid January after having double knee surgery and gaining 10 lbs. I am a Lifetime WW Member but need to get this weight off. I started to make your soups which helps so much.
Today I made your Broccoli Cheese Soup and I found a recipe for Vegetable Beef Soup with Barley for 1 point on the purple plan. I put two servings in a container and the rest goes in the freezer. This way I can have it when I don’t want to cook and won’t feel guilty about it. I'll probably will be making your Southwest Chicken Soup tomorrow. Can’t wait. Oh by the way your Broccoli Cheese Soup is outstanding. Love it!
Since I started back to Weight Watchers (WW) I’ve lost 3-1/2 lbs and 4-1/2 inches. I write daily in my success planner and that really helps me. Thanks again Martha, don't stop, keep them coming.

I have been a fan of Dr. Jason Fung for sometime. He has amazing videos on YouTube. I was very into the keto diet for weight loss and to keep my blood sugars lower. I am not a diabetic, but need to watch the sugars.
I did keto but realized eating this way was not a lifestyle I could do. I went back to Weight Watchers, especially when they changed their programs with more emphasis on lower sugars.
Now I do WW on the lower carb/sugar side... and I rarely eat breakfast. I fast at least 10 to 14 hours on a regular basis. It helps me mentally and keeps me on track.
Do I sometimes slip up?? Yes... but I just hit the reset button and I am good.

Martha - Wanted to let you know I have lost 15 lbs in the last 6 weeks. I use your recipes which are delicious (especially the slow cooker ones). I don't count points (didn't like having to enter the ingredients for every new recipe on the website) but I count calories and limit myself to 1,200 a day.
I have 72 more lbs to go. I am a paragon of virtue when it comes to whole foods, fruits and vegetables. My body seems to be detoxing itself as I keep blowing my nose.
I am also a breast cancer survivor and 100 percent cured.

Your 28-Day Smart Start Has Great Ideas & I Plan to Implement Them, Especially the Journaling
I just ordered your 28-day challenge. I've tried Weight Watchers numerous times, but I feel like at this point I don't want the pressure of having to weigh in. Reading this felt like a friend was sitting down with me, helping me to really assess what I'm thinking and feeling.
I've already started by deciding that I don't need sugar in my life. It is a huge trigger. I have to have a little measure of success if not through a scale, though in the end I do want to lose weight.
I'm ready to make the lasting changes, and I want to be gentle enough on myself that I don't give up. Not seeing numbers on the scale go down fast is really discouraging.
I've already thought about making soups, I do carry snacks but not routinely enough-I work nights at a labor intense job, so that is really important. There is always food out at the locations I clean. I try to always have a water bottle with me.
I'm starting to have some health issues that are making me look at different types of exercise than what I've done in the past (arthritic hip, back problems). I just don't want to keep doing the same things and find myself getting worse as time goes on.
Thanks, this little book has great ideas and I plan to implement them, especially the journaling. I know that does help. You have to find the problem to find solutions. Just wanted to share and realize I probably would benefit from a buddy doing this with me! I feel encouraged.

Martha - bless your heart for all the work it must have taken to update the SmartPoints in your ebooks to the new Freestyle points. I had ordered your original bundle and have made good use of it. Having been on the PP plan, I didn't like the look the new SP when it rolled out, but decided to rejoin this morning to see what the new program would bring.
I was worried about how this update would affect your ebooks but here you are, just hours later, getting me up to date and right on track. I've downloaded the updated points so that all I have to do now is check the original recipe - I have them all in their own binder - then go to the download and update the points! Brilliant!!

Martha, I have been reading your emails for a few months and love your insight. That said I had yet to make a Slow Cooker recipe until the Chicken Marsala.
OMG are you kidding? It is so fabulous I will make it again and again and again. One certainly does not feel on a diet of any kind eating that. I had sauteed carrots with it. Also, though I am a wine lover, I only had 1/3 cup of the Marsala so used broth as the other liquid and it turned out well. No shallots but used quite a lot of red onion.

Hi Martha. Im on Weight Watchers right now and your site aligns with the program so well. I have limited menu choices since I eat no mammals, but I do eat shrimp and salmon and chicken and turkey.
In addition, I am into healthy eating but I am very specific about the veggies I eat, so I search for recipes that can work for me. I've found several in your offerings and I am grateful for those.
I rarely buy or download cookbooks because they never fit into to my specific food choices but rather research individual recipes that will work.

The Aroma Of The Skinny Slow Cooker Chicken Puttanesca Is Swoon Worthy
Hi Martha, I made the Skinny Slow Cooker Chicken Puttanesca cooked on HIGH for 4 hours. The aroma was swoon worthy and reminded me of an Italian restaurant my husband and I used to frequent. The texture and juiciness of the chicken was outrageous and all the flavors from ingredients melded beautifully. I'm 100% Italian and this dish is definitely authentic fare. This recipe is going into my rotation file, so delicious and my husband loved it just as much a I did. Keep them coming.
Martha - Your eCookbooks and Recipes Have Been A Godsend!
Hi Martha - Things are going well! I am not new to WW - I have been in the program off and on over the years and have been successful. I reached my goal and became a lifetime member, but in the past couple of years, a few - thankfully not too many -- pounds reappeared. And, my husband needed to lose weight too.
I bought your bundle of books that includes the slow cooker recipes. I have to say that the cookbooks and recipes have been a godsend. While it takes effort to buy ingredients and get things cooking, the foods are delicious and make my life so much easier!
BTW - I am on the 28-Day Challenge. Some of the advice I knew to do already, but there are some great ideas I am incorporating into my lifestyle!

Dear Martha - I accidentally signed up for your inspiring messages over a year ago, and they have changed my outlook on everything. I have struggled with using food as comfort for many many years, never considering how much I was hurting myself.
I tried WW in the past, and was sometimes successful until life knocked me down again (miscarriages, deaths of parents, cancer and divorce) and I would yet again turn to food. It was always there for me, never judging me, replacing the missing pieces.
Until your emails. Your focus on the positive, your non-judgemental approach really work for me. I have stopped beating myself up for constantly letting myself down, and am focussed on how hard I always try again, thanks to you.
Your loving, kind and nurturing approach is such a gift, thank you. I wish I could tell you I am confident I will never fall again, but at least I feel as though I am not alone, and that it is my attempts to stand tall that matter, not how many times I succumb to self-distructive old habits.

I had the Kung Lao chicken the other night and it was YUM!!! (I think next time I might reduce the hot sauce a little - it had a kick to it!) Honey Lime Tilapia was awesome also.

I made one of your slow cooker recipes this week, Ratatouille. My husband and I absolutely loved it !!! I will be making this one again. It does take a bit of prep time but is absolutely worth it in the end. I am a slow cooker lover, like you, and I don't work.
