It's summertime and we live on a lake – lots of parties and activities going on thru the late Fall. Blessed to live here, for sure – and food and drink bring up challenges quite often!!! I’ve learned to bring a big old bowl of fresh fruit and thin my wine by half by adding diet 7 up! Silly, but it helps. Would help more to not drink at all, but I am not there yet!!

Dear Martha - I accidentally signed up for your inspiring messages over a year ago, and they have changed my outlook on everything. I have struggled with using food as comfort for many many years, never considering how much I was hurting myself.
I tried WW in the past, and was sometimes successful until life knocked me down again (miscarriages, deaths of parents, cancer and divorce) and I would yet again turn to food. It was always there for me, never judging me, replacing the missing pieces.
Until your emails. Your focus on the positive, your non-judgemental approach really work for me. I have stopped beating myself up for constantly letting myself down, and am focussed on how hard I always try again, thanks to you.
Your loving, kind and nurturing approach is such a gift, thank you. I wish I could tell you I am confident I will never fall again, but at least I feel as though I am not alone, and that it is my attempts to stand tall that matter, not how many times I succumb to self-distructive old habits.

I Wanted To Let You Know That You Were My 'A Ha' Moment Today
Hello Martha - I somehow came across your website as I was looking for yet another miracle diet and I watched your video on your WW journey. It brought me to years as you were actually telling my story, even the childhood "fat names".
After many many diets and also including re-joining WW more times than I can remember, I actually got to my goal weight . (I’ve always been about 30-40 overweight through my ups and downs of life). It was the best feeling ever and yet after I stood up in front of the group to tell my story and accept my "lifetime," I never went back.
This was in August of last year and I had just attended my 35th high school reunion and it never felt better. Well here I am 6 months later and 20 pounds heavier and so disappointed in myself.
I'm 53 and I still haven't made that connection.
I follow WW online but mostly just read comments at this point. I’m too embarrassed to go back as you mentioned.
I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you have been my ah ha moment today.
This has to be a lifestyle for me because as I can see, the diet thing is not working for me.

I did keto but realized eating this way was not a lifestyle I could do. I went back to Weight Watchers, especially when they changed their programs with more emphasis on lower sugars.
Now I do WW on the lower carb/sugar side... and I rarely eat breakfast. I fast at least 10 to 14 hours on a regular basis. It helps me mentally and keeps me on track.
Do I sometimes slip up?? Yes... but I just hit the reset button and I am good.

You Have Inspired Me So Much With Your Daily Inspirations and E-mails
Martha, I can't say thank you enough to you! You have inspired me so much with your daily inspirations and e-mails. I was finally able to start back to WW in mid January after having my he double knee surgery and gaining 10 lbs. I am a lifetime member but need to get this weight off. I started to make your soups and helps sooo much.
Today I made your broccoli cheese soup and I found a recipe for vegetable beef soup with barley for 1 point on the purple plan. I put two servings in a container and the rest goes in the freezer. This way I can have it when I don't want to cook and won't feel guilty about it. I'll probably will be making your southwest chicken soup tomorrow. Can’t wait. Oh by the way your broccoli cheese soup is outstanding. Love it!!
Since I started back to WW, I've lost 3-½ lbs and 4-½ inches. I write daily in my success planner and that really helps me. Thanks again Martha, don't stop, keep them coming!

Yay, thank you!! I too am single and following (AND LOVING) the new WW Freestyle Plan! So far I have lost 56 pounds (since the middle of May). I still have a ways to go, but stick with it. Thank for all of your emails, blog and recipes!!! The thing that is easy when making a bigger recipe is that I can freeze any leftovers (especially soups, chili, etc.).
