Hi Martha - I love your recipes and your site. I am a Weight Watchers Lifetime Member and have kept over 134 pounds off for 11 years, for which I am proud. Slow and easy does win the race, so that makes me a turtle too. The slow I lost the weight, the longer I kept it off and am still doing it.
I exercise 3 days a week (even with lots of health issues) and it makes my days better by doing it - and it helps keep my weight down. My WW meetings are very important to me too.

I Wanted To Let You Know That You Were My 'A Ha' Moment Today
Hello Martha - I somehow came across your website as I was looking for yet another miracle diet and I watched your video on your WW journey. It brought me to years as you were actually telling my story, even the childhood "fat names".
After many many diets and also including re-joining WW more times than I can remember, I actually got to my goal weight . (I’ve always been about 30-40 overweight through my ups and downs of life). It was the best feeling ever and yet after I stood up in front of the group to tell my story and accept my "lifetime," I never went back.
This was in August of last year and I had just attended my 35th high school reunion and it never felt better. Well here I am 6 months later and 20 pounds heavier and so disappointed in myself.
I'm 53 and I still haven't made that connection.
I follow WW online but mostly just read comments at this point. I’m too embarrassed to go back as you mentioned.
I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you have been my ah ha moment today.
This has to be a lifestyle for me because as I can see, the diet thing is not working for me.

The one sheet pan dinners have been life savers for my family!
We have tried the Rosemary Chicken with Potatoes and the Chicken Fajitas.
Tonight we are going to try the Chicken Parmesan with Zucchini, and we have on our list to try the Shrimp with Broccoli.
Each evening my husband and I chop the veggies and assemble everything on the cookie sheet and in 30 minutes we have a super yummy dinner!
We love the smell of the garlic and herbs as it is cooking.
In the past we have done a lot of frozen food because we are exhausted and in a hurry.
But now, in about the same time, we can make a healthy and very satisfying meal.

I Have Lost 30 Pounds and I Feel Wonderful - 60 More to Go!
I have lost 30 lbs and I feel wonderful. 60 more to go. I am not following any sort of plan; just eating healthy - salads, steamed and roasted vegetables, lentils, lean fish and chicken, very little beef. Fruit and an occasional treat like reduced fat, stevia-sweetened banana bread (homemade) or a tiny bowl of spumoni (I am Italian).

Yay, thank you!! I too am single and following (AND LOVING) the new WW Freestyle Plan! So far I have lost 56 pounds (since the middle of May). I still have a ways to go, but stick with it. I just ordered your 28-day challenge. I've tried Weight Watchers numerous times, but I feel like at this point I don't want the pressure of having to weigh in. Reading this felt like a friend was sitting down with me, helping me to really assess what I'm thinking and feeling.
I've already started by deciding that I don't need sugar in my life. It is a huge trigger. I have to have a little measure of success if not through a scale, though in the end I do want to lose weight.
I'm ready to make the lasting changes, and I want to be gentle enough on myself that I don't give up. Not seeing numbers on the scale go down fast is really discouraging.
I've already thought about making soups, I do carry snacks but not routinely enough-I work nights at a labor intense job, so that is really important. There is always food out at the locations I clean. I try to always have a water bottle with me.
I'm starting to have some health issues that are making me look at different types of exercise than what I've done in the past (arthritic hip, back problems). I just don't want to keep doing the same things and find myself getting worse as time goes on.
Thanks, this little book has great ideas and I plan to implement them, especially the journaling. I know that does help. You have to find the problem to find solutions. Just wanted to share and realize I probably would benefit from a buddy doing this with me! I feel encouraged.

You Made A Big Difference For Me Today
Martha - I totally needed your thoughts today.
I started my WW journey in January and I have lost 40 pounds. I am doing the online version right now - I will join a class in July and I weigh in on Sundays.
I gained 1 pound this week. It really messed with my head. I looked back to see what I did wrong. I didn't cheat, I don't dip into my weekly points... I am good.
But then I realized I didn't get enough water or budget my meals like I normally do.
So, when I read your thoughts from your walk... It made all the difference to me.
I am not perfect, but I have come a long way and I am doing it!

I can't say thank you enough. You have inspired me so much with your daily inspirations and e-mails. I was finally able to start back to WW in mid January after having double knee surgery and gaining 10 lbs. I am a Lifetime WW Member but need to get this weight off. I started to make your soups which helps so much.
Today I made your Broccoli Cheese Soup and I found a recipe for Vegetable Beef Soup with Barley for 1 point on the purple plan. I put two servings in a container and the rest goes in the freezer. This way I can have it when I don’t want to cook and won’t feel guilty about it. I'll probably will be making your Southwest Chicken Soup tomorrow. Can’t wait. Oh by the way your Broccoli Cheese Soup is outstanding. Love it!
