I'm Getting So Much Inspiration From Your Slow Cooker Recipes
Hi Martha - I'm getting so much inspiration from your slow cooker recipes. My slow cooker is at least 30 years old and still working beautifully. It has one feature I love which is the ability to cook on HIGH for an hour, then auto switch to LOW. I haven't come across any new models that do this and my old friend is still cooking perfectly.
Which it did yesterday with your apple cranberry chicken and what a fabulous recipe that turned out to be. Amazing that so few ingredients can produce such wonderful results!
I served it with sweet potatoes and a saute of multi-colored peppers and spinach. Not only was the dinner absolutely delicious, but the plate was just bursting with color. Thank you for your inspiration and a really delicious dinner!!

Martha - I actually joined WW after I started making your recipes. I'd joined Weight Watchers twice before (and tried many other diets), but I always gave up because the food choices seemed too restrictive.
After a few months of using your recipes, especially the slow-cooker ones which I can freeze in individual portions, I decided I might be able to stick with the program this time. I've lost 35 pounds so far, and a lot of that is due to having your recipes available!

I have been a fan of Dr. Jason Fung for sometime. He has amazing videos on YouTube. I was very into the keto diet for weight loss and to keep my blood sugars lower. I am not a diabetic, but need to watch the sugars.
I did keto but realized eating this way was not a lifestyle I could do. I went back to Weight Watchers, especially when they changed their programs with more emphasis on lower sugars.
Now I do WW on the lower carb/sugar side... and I rarely eat breakfast. I fast at least 10 to 14 hours on a regular basis. It helps me mentally and keeps me on track.
Do I sometimes slip up?? Yes... but I just hit the reset button and I am good.

I Wanted To Let You Know That You Were My 'A Ha' Moment Today
Hello Martha - I somehow came across your website as I was looking for yet another miracle diet and I watched your video on your WW journey. It brought me to years as you were actually telling my story, even the childhood "fat names".
After many many diets and also including re-joining WW more times than I can remember, I actually got to my goal weight . (I’ve always been about 30-40 overweight through my ups and downs of life). It was the best feeling ever and yet after I stood up in front of the group to tell my story and accept my "lifetime," I never went back.
This was in August of last year and I had just attended my 35th high school reunion and it never felt better. Well here I am 6 months later and 20 pounds heavier and so disappointed in myself.
I'm 53 and I still haven't made that connection.
I follow WW online but mostly just read comments at this point. I’m too embarrassed to go back as you mentioned.
I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you have been my ah ha moment today.
This has to be a lifestyle for me because as I can see, the diet thing is not working for me.

You are so right! I attended my first WW meeting in 1965 or 1966. I had many cookbooks from that era. I was an on/off dieter, with emphasis on diet for many years. I earned Lifetime (first time) around 1977 and re-earned it in 2001.
I have been wrestling with 10 pounds this past year, but this current journey to take it off is probably the best one as I am making changes that I can live with for the rest of my life. I am finding the newer emphasis of beyond the scale to be helpful.

Hi Martha. Im on Weight Watchers right now and your site aligns with the program so well. I have limited menu choices since I eat no mammals, but I do eat shrimp and salmon and chicken and turkey.
In addition, I am into healthy eating but I am very specific about the veggies I eat, so I search for recipes that can work for me. I've found several in your offerings and I am grateful for those.
I rarely buy or download cookbooks because they never fit into to my specific food choices but rather research individual recipes that will work.

What An Inspiring Message & Thank You
Hi Martha - What an inspiring message and thank you for including me in your list. As you may or may not know, I spent 17 years as a Weight Watchers Leader. I also was a Personal Chef for over 10 years and have led many cooking classes via my local educational organizations, Whole Foods, and local Cities Educational Courses.
As a WW Leader, I also reminded members that losing weight is 95% in our heads. We have fat heads! What I meant was, we have total control over what our body does. We think food is the biggest obstacle for us. It is also such a complex situation and it takes the following: Patience, with yourself and whatever program you follow; Persistence, you must be persistent and present for the entire journey; and Practice, you must practice what you are learning everyday.
I loved your email and it got me thinking again. I have so much to share and love doing this work. I am so happy to see that you are in my "village" of changing minds and speaking what we want not what we don't want.

Martha, Thank you for sharing profound wisdom. I am a writer. I just began my career as a writer six months ago. I am working on a memoir. There will end up being two memoirs ... one about my childhood (abuse I endured at my father's hand) and one about my adulthood (how I was set up to become a victim by the way I was raised and how I overcame that victim status). I hope to be a beacon of hope to women who have struggled with abuse, both as a child and later as an adult.
Your email about change resonates with me. No one in my family ever encouraged me to develop and use my talents. It has taken me most of my adult life to get to this point. I embrace my talent and write every day with an eye toward being published. A book is a big undertaking and will take the better part of a year.
I am changing also by taking off the 70 lbs I have to lose. I have lost four of the five pounds I had gained back. I am determined to weigh 125 lbs. again and to feel really good about myself.
Thank you for your kindness; I get a lot out of your emails. I am making the sausage and peppers today. It has another hour to go before it is ready. I look forward to it. It smells yummy.

The Things you Send Are Very Helpful In My Trying To Maintain My Weight
The things you send to me are very helpful in my trying to maintain my weight as I have been a WW Lifetimer for a number of years. Truthfully I find it harder to maintain than to actually lose weight. However the recipes and the tips are a big help as we all know it's easy to get stuck in a rut.

Martha - Your eCookbooks and Recipes Have Been A Godsend!
Hi Martha - Things are going well! I am not new to WW - I have been in the program off and on over the years and have been successful. I reached my goal and became a lifetime member, but in the past couple of years, a few - thankfully not too many -- pounds reappeared. And, my husband needed to lose weight too.
I bought your bundle of books that includes the slow cooker recipes. I have to say that the cookbooks and recipes have been a godsend. While it takes effort to buy ingredients and get things cooking, the foods are delicious and make my life so much easier!
BTW - I am on the 28-Day Challenge. Some of the advice I knew to do already, but there are some great ideas I am incorporating into my lifestyle!

Love Your Slow Cooker Italian Pork & White Bean Stew Recipe
I had to write back to tell you how much we enjoyed this delicious Italian Pork and White Bean Stew recipe.
My Italian heritage was doing a happy dance while eating dinner. My husband, the picky eater, couldn't believe how Old World it tasted. It was something my grandmother or mom would have made.
Healthy and good for you it did not taste. Anything I can fix in one of my 3 slow cooker is fine by me. This recipe is now a recipe card in the front of my box. I just had to thank you for sharing!!
