Hi Martha – I made your Healthy Double Chocolate Bran Muffins today. I changed mine up a bit and used brown sugar Splenda over sugar. Hi Martha – I made your Crock Pot Hamburger Stew 2nite. It was oh so good! My husband thought he was at a restaurant. I added chopped spinach, pinto beans and rather than 2 cups of water, I added 4 cups of vegetable broth. Thanks for the basics! There are so many more of your recipes I’m anxious to try!

Martha, I tried your Slow Cooker Carrot Cake Oatmeal recipe. I tweaked it slightly in that I used unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. I used a 1/4 cup of brown sugar and two Stevia sweetener packets. I baked it in a casserole dish, as opposed to the slow cooker, for 60 minutes at 325F degrees. It came out perfect, moist and delicious. I also cut it into 9 pieces instead of 8. Thank you. I’d joined Weight Watchers twice before (and tried many other diets), but I always gave up because the food choices seemed too restrictive. After a few months of using your recipes, especially the slow-cooker ones which I can freeze in individual portions, I decided I might be able to stick with the program this time. I have been on WW for years, off and on for too many years to count. (Off being the primary word.) I have never reached goal. I have to say that finding your website has been a Godsend for me. I have tried a few different approaches to lose the extra 20 or so pounds I need to shed but with no lasting success. I came home from my annual check-up with my doctor’s advice to find something I can live with in the long-run to lose and keep off the weight, and I’m thrilled that I believe I’ve found it! I’ve tried 4-5 recipes, and all were delicious, filling, and I’ve lost 7 pounds with this healthier approach to eating.

My husband also has enjoyed each meal…and also the desserts. The 2-Ingredient WW Pineapple Angel Food Cake with a sprinkle of coconut topped with fat-free whipped topping is now his favorite cake! I also made a few slow cooker recipes, including the Stuffed Cabbage Casserole, which made 3 meals for us, so less cooking for me. I am enjoying the new recipes and, just as much, appreciate the pounds that I’m shedding. I can really do this!

Meal planning ahead of time, buying just the groceries I will need for the week, and getting the meal going first thing in the morning in the slow cooker has been key in my weight loss efforts. Martha, I LOVE soups, though I tend to cook on the stove top rather than the crock pot. I find it relaxing to prepare my meals in the evening, with a drink in hand (smart points always counted!), rather than adding one more thing to my already busy mornings. Tonight I made your 3 bean chili (I use ground chicken because I can’t find turkey). It is SOOOO very delicious! I will definitely freeze about half of it, as I live alone. I have lost 84 lbs on WW, (66 since the pandemic) and am about 25 -31 lbs from my goal. Your recipes, especially your soups, have been extremely helpful in the process. I’ve never been much of a cook and definitely NOT a planner. That has all changed since the pandemic. I now plan my meals, make shopping lists, and shop only for what I need. A friend was visiting for the weekend and I made your chicken salad with apples and cranberries – it was delicious and she asked for the recipe. Then last night I made your crockpot recipe for chicken with apples and cranberries – can you see a trend here? Both equally delicious and even with similar ingredients have different tastes and textures.
