A while back I received an email from Lorrie who was looking for breakfast suggestions for people who do not eat eggs or yogurt. I have good news: There are tons of easy healthy egg and yogurt free breakfast options.
I have assembled some of my favorite egg and yogurt free breakfasts with enough fiber and protein to keep you satisfied until lunch…

Healthy Breakfast Ideas Free of Eggs and/or Yogurt
Some of my favorite egg-free, yogurt-free breakfasts include:
- Cottage Cheese with Fruit (I’m particularly fond of canned pineapple and peaches)
- Breakfast Banana Split
- Chia Seed Pudding
- Skinny Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie
- Vegan Pumpkin Oatmeal Muffin Cups
- High Fiber, Low Sugar Cereal, Fruit & Milk (I like Special K, Wheaties, Chex, Bran Flakes, Cheerios)

An email from Lisa M. reminded me that there’s no rule that says you have to eat traditional breakfast foods in the morning….
Lisa’s Elixir of Life Egg Free Vegetable Bean Breakfast Soup
I developed an egg allergy during an illness, and I was forced to stop my usual eggy breakfasts. But I wanted to also do a zero point breakfast.
I made up a great vegetable bean soup recipe, with vegetable broth (affiliate link) (or chicken broth) with all zero point ingredients (my base is always cauliflower and cabbage, green beans, carrots, onions, brussels sprouts, kale, spinach (or any leafy green) mushrooms and diced canned tomato) and have a side of either turkey, chicken, salmon or sardines for protein for breakfast. I call this soup my elixir of life, as it really helped bring me back to relative health, while keeping me in a zero point breakfast.
I pair cruciferous vegetables with beans of some type in the soup, and follow the acronym GOMBS, which Kirstie Alley talked about, standing for Greens, Onions, Mushrooms, Beans and Seeds, to stay really healthy. I can’t put the seeds in the soup, but I do use cumin seed sometimes sprinkled on top, and sprinkle the soup with fresh lemon.
I hope this unusual breakfast can help others seeking to have a breakfast with no egg or yogurt, and only complex carbohydrates/zero points!
Thank you for your wonderful blog,
Lisa M. (New Jersey)
