WW Recipe of the Day: Slow Cooker Hot Spiced Cider

This hot spiced apple cider is another first. It’s the first time I’ve made slow cooker hot spiced cider. And it’s the first time I’ve ever taken a crock pot on vacation!

We went to Flagstaff over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The only way to stick with my commitment to use my slow cooker every day for a year was to bring one along. So, I did.

I figured that I could use my little 1-1/2 quart round slow cooker to make this super simple slow cooker hot spiced cider in our hotel room.

It turned out to be a great choice. After a day out and about in 30-40 degree weather, which is downright frigid when you are from Phoenix, it was nice to return to a cup of this sweet slow cooker hot spiced cider.

Ingredients for making spiced apple cider including a red crock pot, cinnamon stocks, mulled spice tea bags and bottle of organic apple juice.
Slow Cooker Hot Spiced Cider Ingredients

Many hot spiced cider recipes call for brown sugar. But cider is plenty sweet for us. So I skipped it.

And just combined a quart of cider with a cinnamon stick and a couple of Mulling Spices Tea Bags (affiliate link) I found unopened way at the back of the cupboard behind the regular tea bags. A cinnamon stick and few whole cloves would work too.

This slow cooker hot spiced cider tasted as delicious as it smelled. It’s a perfect drink to celebrate fall.
