Combine the cider, cinnamon stick and cloves in your slow cooker (I used my 1-1/2 quart). Add the orange slices, if using.
Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 6 hours.
Remove the cinnamon stick and whole cloves after 6 hours so they don't become too strong.
