Today I’m sharing 10 favorite Weight Watchers Soup Recipes perfect for celebrating National Homemade Soup Day! It’s National Homemade Soup Day! Did you know? I had no idea until I found this cool graphic with fun soup facts in my email from Peter:
I love homemade soup. Steamy. Nourishing. Tasty. Satisfying. It’s one of my favorite things to make and eat which you can probably tell from the large collection of Homemade Weight Watchers Soup Recipes here on Simple Nourished Living.
Homemade soups have a lot going for them. They are easy to make either on the stove top or in the slow cooker. You don’t have to be exact with your ingredients and/or measurements, perfect for new or lazy cooks. You can make a lot all in one pot and then have ready-to-heat leftovers for quick nourishing lunches and suppers.
And best of all, homemade soups can help you lose weight and keep it off. If I had to limit myself to one winning weight loss strategy I think it would be soup. It’s nourishing and satisfying and can fill you up on minimal Points Plus.
Did you know that the term “supper” is derived from the French “souper” the evening meal that tended to be lighter and often consisted of soup?
We have adopted this approach to eating at least a few evenings a week. Instead of a large multi-dish “dinner” we opt for soup with a little salad and/or bread. It seems like I never get that “stuffed” feeling when we eat this way and I’m able to sleep better.
