WW Recipe of the Day: Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken Thighs
These tender flavorful chicken thighs take only a few minutes to toss together. Just add the chicken to the slow cooker, stir together the sauce ingredients and pour on top. That’s all there is to it.

Several hours later dinner will be ready and waiting. How easy is that?
And a whole lot healthier than getting takeout too!
Recipe Notes
These slow cooker sesame chicken thighs were a big hit with the entire family. Brown rice and broccoli make nice accompaniments.

This would also be yummy served over zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice if you are watching your carbs!
If you or someone you are dining with prefers more spice, serve with crushed red pepper flake or sriracha sauce for extra heat.

You are so awesome! I don’t think I’ve read a single thing like that before.
So great to find another person with a few original
thoughts on this issue. Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up.
Thiis site is one thing that iss needed on the internet, someone with a bit of originality!
This was a big hit with the whole family! I am not a huge fan of chicken thighs, but this was really good. My husband said it was on the “make again” list. Thanks!
I absolutely love your recipes and your website is my go to, constantly! ๐ This is my 1st time making this dish, however. Can I use regular sherry instead of cooking sherry…and can I make this without seasame seeds ?? I forgot them at the store!
Hi Janine, Yes you can use regular sherry instead of cooking and yes, you can skip the sesame seeds, though the taste will be a bit different. – Martha
I made this recipe for friends last night. Everyone agreed that it was delicious! A ‘keeper’ for sure. The sauce was very thin so I spooned most of it into a skillet and thickened it with some flour.
I arranged the chicken on a serving dish, covered it with the thickened sauce and served it with couscous.
Great meal – thanks for sharing!
Hi Patti, Glad you liked it! The idea of thickening the sauce with a little flour is a great one! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Just found your site ! Thank you!!!
These look great! I love anything crock pot so I am going to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing!
I always love your recipes!! Thank you so much for sharing. I plan on making this dish tomorrow – but I don’t have sherry!! Hoping the taste is still as yummy!!! (Is there is substitute I wonder??) Thanks again!!!
Hi Donna, I hope you like it! Sherry has a very distinctive flavor so it’s not easily replaced. I did some researching on line and suggestions included: brandy, dry vermouth, and apple cider. I think it will be fine if you just skip it though. Hope this helps.
thanks so much! I’ll skip it and let you know. I appreciate your reply – you’re always so helpful!
The dish turned out awesome – even without the sherry. And what I did instead of rice I shredded and used it with lettuce leaves and made little wraps! Yum!!!
Hi Donna, So glad you liked it. Love the idea of little lettuce wraps. Such a light and delicious
way to enjoy sesame chicken this time of year! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
I make sesame seed chicken all the time for my boyfriend, but my recipe is lightly fried. I try not to fry that much anymore, I’m always watching our waistlines. This recipe is a great substitution to my current one. Thanks for sharing!!!
You are so welcome, Mary. Hope you and your boyfriend like my crock pot version of sesame seed chicken.
