If you love pizza and soup, this Slow Cooker Pizza Soup is the best of both worlds.

Sometimes called “pizza in a bowl,” it takes all those familiar flavors — marinara, pepperoni, vegetables and melted cheese — and turns them into a warm, satisfying soup.

It’s a great way to enjoy that classic pizza taste for far fewer WW Points, and the slow cooker makes it especially easy. Just add everything, let it simmer, and dinner is ready when you are.

This is one of those recipes that feels like comfort food but fits nicely into a lighter, everyday routine.

Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Fat-Free Marinara Sauce – Provides the pizza-style base. Use your favorite jarred sauce or homemade.
  • Diced Tomatoes – Adds texture and depth. Fire-roasted tomatoes are a nice option for extra flavor.
  • Onion, Green Pepper & Mushrooms – Classic pizza vegetables. Feel free to swap or add favorites like olives or spinach.
  • Zucchini or Yellow Squash – Adds volume and nutrients without many calories.
  • Low-Fat Turkey Pepperoni – Gives that classic pizza flavor with less fat. You can substitute cooked turkey sausage if preferred.
  • Italian Seasoning – Brings everything together with familiar pizza flavor.
  • Water – Helps create the soup base. You can substitute broth for more flavor.
  • Dry Macaroni – Adds heartiness. Use whole wheat pasta if desired.
  • Low-Fat Mozzarella (optional) – Sprinkle on top for that melted pizza finish.

How to Make Slow Cooker Pizza Soup

Step 1: Add marinara sauce, tomatoes, vegetables, pepperoni, seasoning and water to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours, until vegetables are tender.

Step 2: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the dry pasta and turn heat to HIGH. Cook until pasta is tender.

Step 3: Ladle into bowls and top with mozzarella cheese if desired.

We really enjoyed this slow cooked pizza soup, so I’ll be making it again soon. Next time, I’m thinking about using cooked Italian style turkey sausage instead of the pepperoni.
