Whenever I discover a few peaches that are just a little too soft for eating out of hand, this simple Creamy Peach Salad is one of my favorite ways to use them.

Sweet peaches, crunchy celery, toasted almonds, and a lightly sweetened yogurt dressing come together in just minutes for a refreshing salad that’s equally at home on the breakfast table, alongside lunch, or served as a light summer dessert.

It reminds me a little of a lighter Waldorf salad, with peaches taking the place of apples. If you enjoy fruit salads with a creamy dressing, I think you’ll love this easy variation.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Ready in about 10 minutes
  • A great way to use ripe peaches
  • Creamy, crunchy, and refreshing
  • Naturally high in protein from the yogurt
  • Perfect for breakfast, brunch, snacks, or dessert

Ingredients & Notes

  • Fresh peaches – Slightly soft peaches work beautifully. I usually peel them, but that’s completely optional.
  • Celery – Adds freshness and crunch.
  • Almonds – Chopped or slivered almonds both work well. Toasting them adds even more flavor.
  • Plain yogurt – Creates a creamy, protein-rich dressing.
  • Honey – Just enough to lightly sweeten the dressing.
  • Lemon juice – Brightens all the flavors.
  • Cinnamon and nutmeg – Add a subtle warmth that complements the peaches.

Recipe Tips

  • Chill the salad for 20 to 30 minutes before serving if you have time.
  • Taste your peaches before adding the honey. Very sweet peaches may need less.
  • Toasting the almonds is optional but adds wonderful flavor.

Variations

  • Substitute apples for the peaches for a lighter take on Waldorf salad.
  • Use walnuts or pecans instead of almonds.
  • Omit the spices if you prefer a cleaner fruit flavor.
  • Stir in fresh blueberries or grapes for additional color and sweetness.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy this salad:

  • for breakfast with cottage cheese
  • alongside a sandwich or wrap for lunch
  • as a light afternoon snack
  • with grilled chicken or pork
  • as a simple summer dessert

Storage

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Because peaches continue to soften, this salad is best enjoyed within the first day or two.

3 PointsPlus (Old plan)
  • I prefer peeled peaches in this salad but it’s your choice.
  • Replace the peaches with apples for a skinny crunchy apple salad.
  • Skip the spices if you prefer simpler flavors
  • No almonds? Walnuts or pecans would also work
