Pizza is definitely one of my favorite foods. And there are so many different ways to prepare it: on english muffins, on low-carb tortillas, on french bread, on tortillas, with 2-ingredient dough, and on flatbread, just to name a few.
But making a personal pizza on a whole wheat pita was something I had never tried until now. As it turns out, this crispy pita pizza is one of my favorites! I love thin and crispy crust on my pizza, and since this takes less than 10 minutes, it has quickly become my go-to way of enjoying delicious pizza at home.

How to Make Crispy Pita Pizza, Step-by-Step
Step 1: Gather and prepare all ingredients. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400F degrees. (I used a pizza stone (affiliate link) in my toaster oven and it worked great providing the crispiest crust).

Step 2: To make a super crispy pizza, you’ll want to carefully separate the 2 layers of the pita pocket with a sharp knife.

Step 3: Spread 1 tablespoon on each half of the pita bread and top each with 2 tablespoons shredded mozzarella. If using any additional toppings, add them now.

Step 4: Bake for 6 to 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and your desired level of crispiness is achieved.

Step 5: Pizza will be very hot when removing it from the oven, so you make want to let it sit for a minute or two before serving so you don’t burn your mouth on the sauce and cheese.

Recipe Notes
By splitting the pita bread in half, this recipe provides two crispy personal pizzas (one serving). You could also make this pizza by not separating the pita first, but you will end up with a much less crispy pizza.
The sauce adds a lot to this simple pizza, so be sure to use your favorite. And since you only need 2 tablespoons, you won’t blow your WW Points budget. Some popular choices are Rao’s, Classico Tradtional and Mezzetta which is what I used and thought it tasted great!
My toaster oven (affiliate link) came with a 13-inch pizza stone (affiliate link) when I purchased it and I like to use the stone when cooking pizza and sandwich and anything on bread because it really does make the crust nice and crispy all the way through.
