Devising the perfect recipe for lasting weight loss success, coming up with the necessary ingredients and correct proportions can take some work.
And is likely to change with time and experience.

In addition to happiness and kindness, lasting weight loss requires that you stay humble.
It's a mistake to get arrogant and think you've got it all figured out.
At least it was for me.
After losing weight with Weight Watchers and achieving the gift of WW lifetime status, I mistakenly believed that I no longer needed the program, support and accountability that had gotten me there.

There are several things I'd like to go back and tell my younger self...
One is, "When you achieve Weight Watchers Lifetime Status treat it as the gift that it is.
Don't toss it aside.
Value it.
Maintain it by weighing in at least once a month.

The bounteous modern world is just too full of temptations to derail you.
You'll continue to learn so much and grow and help others by sticking with it.
You're not done. Not even close."
Instead I failed to make the connection. I got haughty and cocky and took all the credit.
Arrogance and pride are dangerous.
So after several setbacks, I got humble and made a lasting commitment to the only weight loss plan that has ever worked for me in the long run.
My meeting has become 30 minutes of sanity, connection and support in an out of control food world run amok. My leader(s) and fellow members are trusted friends.
I feel fortunate to have figured this out finally. And I try never to take any of it for granted.
I try to stay humble and kind.

Some very wise words of wisdom Martha. I have two more weeks of maintenance before I reach lifetime. My leader and group have been enormously supportive of me and of each other. I plan to continue attending weekly meetings when I reach lifetime status. Like you, my past track record at losing and gaining has been quite "humbling."
