I’ve always loved the classic bagel and lox combination — creamy, salty, a little tangy and full of flavor.

This salad is my lighter, low-carb way to enjoy those same flavors without the bagel.

Instead, everything bagel seasoning (affiliate link) does the heavy lifting, bringing that familiar savory crunch to a simple mix of greens, smoked salmon and a creamy dressing.

It’s quick, satisfying and feels just a little special — even though it comes together in minutes.

Everything But the Bagel Salad

Why I Love This Everything Bagel Salmon Salad

• All the flavor of bagel and lox in a lighter form
• Quick, single-serve meal
• High in protein and low in carbs
• No cooking required
• Feels a little fancy without much effort

Ingredients & Substitutions

Dressing:

  • Light Sour Cream or Nonfat Greek Yogurt – Provides a creamy base. Greek yogurt adds extra protein and tang.
  • Reduced-Fat Cream Cheese – Gives that classic bagel-and-lox flavor.
  • Dijon Mustard – Adds a subtle sharpness.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning (affiliate link) – The key flavor element. Use more or less to taste.
  • Lemon Juice – Brightens and balances the dressing.

Salad:

  • Baby Spinach – A simple, nutrient-rich base. Mixed greens or arugula also work.
  • Cucumber – Adds crunch and freshness.
  • Tomato – Adds juiciness and balance.
  • Red Onion – Provides a little bite. Use sparingly if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Smoked Salmon – The star protein. You can substitute cooked salmon if needed.
  • Capers (optional) – Adds a salty, briny pop that really completes the “lox” flavor profile.

I like to enjoy this salad with a few whole grain crackers, spread with light cream cheese and sprinkled with a little more Trader Joe’s Everything Bagel Seasoning (affiliate link). These low carb Everything But the Bagel tortilla chips would also be great. For a heartier meal add a cup of your favorite vegetable soup.
