Pumpkin pie has always been an essential part of Thanksgiving for me and my family. It just wouldn’t feel quite the same without it.
But over the years, I’ve discovered there are lots of delicious ways to enjoy those familiar pumpkin pie flavors, from a traditional slice to an easy crustless pie or individual pumpkin custard.
And while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a slice of your favorite pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, sometimes it’s nice to have a lighter option, especially when you want to enjoy pumpkin desserts throughout the fall.
I’ve gathered some of my favorite WW-friendly pumpkin pie recipes from Simple Nourished Living, along with a few easy alternatives for when you want the flavor of pumpkin pie without making a whole pie.

Biggest Loser Pumped-Up Pumpkin Pie Bites Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup whole grain, crunchy, high-fiber, low sugar cereal (such as Kashi 7 Whole Grain Nuggets)
- 2 tablespoons 100% pure maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 8 large egg whites
- 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup agave nectar
- 2 tablespoons whole wheat pastry flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup low-fat whipped topping
Instructions
- Position an oven rack in the center and preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Lightly mist an 11×7-inch glass or ceramic baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Crush the cereal, in a blender (affiliate link) or food processor (affiliate link), with a mortar and pestle, or manually.
- Place the crushed cereal in a small bowl (affiliate link). Add the maple syrup and cinnamon and mix until well combined. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Gently press down on the cereal mixture, spreading it evenly across the bottom of the baking dish. (It may help to do this with a piece of wax paper or damp hands, as the mixture will be sticky.)
- Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until slightly browned. Remove dish from the oven and se on a cooling rack (affiliate link).
- Meanwhile, add the egg whites to a large mixing bowl (affiliate link). Whisk them lightly until they are slightly bubbly. Add the pumpkin, agave syrup and flour and whisk until well blended. Stir in the vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder and salt and continue mixing until well combined.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry or with a few damp crumbs.
- Remove from the oven and place the dish on a wire cooling rack (affiliate link) until cooled to room temperature.
- Cut into 32 pumpkin “bites.” Add a small dollop of light whipped topping just before serving

Weight Watchers Friendly Pumpkin Pie Recipes

Favorite Easy Pumpkin Pie Recipes
1. Impossible Pumpkin Pie Made Lighter
Low-Fat Impossible Pumpkin Pie
This old-fashioned Bisquick Impossible Pumpkin Pie is one of my favorite shortcuts.
There’s no pastry crust to roll out. You simply mix the ingredients together, pour them into a pie plate (affiliate link) and bake.
The Bisquick helps create a slightly firmer edge and bottom, so the finished pie holds together beautifully when sliced.
It’s an especially good choice when you want a traditional-looking pumpkin pie without the fuss of making pastry.

2. Creamy Pumpkin Pie Custard Cups
Creamy Pumpkin Pie Custard Cups Made Lighter
These individual pumpkin custards have all the familiar flavors of pumpkin pie without the crust.
They’re baked in little ramekins, making portioning easy, and look lovely topped with a spoonful of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
A wonderful make-ahead option for Thanksgiving or any fall dinner.

3. Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Pudding
Easy Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Pudding
This one has a special place in my heart.
When I first served it to Rod, Mom and my sister, everyone loved it so much that we talked about serving it instead of traditional pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving!
It’s creamy, sweet and nicely spiced. A few crushed gingersnaps and a little whipped cream make it feel like a special holiday dessert.
4. Barbara’s Easy Crustless Pumpkin Pie
Barbara’s Easy WW Pumpkin Pie Recipe
This simple crustless pumpkin pie comes from Simple Nourished Living reader Barbara G.
I always enjoy sharing recipes and ideas from readers, especially when they’re easy enough to make part of everyday life.
You’ll find her recipe in her inspiring WW success story.
More Easy Desserts with Pumpkin Pie Flavor
Sometimes you want pumpkin pie flavor without actually baking a pie. These easy recipes are perfect for those occasions.

These pretty layered parfaits are an easy no-bake treat made with pumpkin and yogurt.
They’re just as welcome for breakfast as they are for dessert, especially when you want something a little lighter after a big meal.

Pumpkin Rice Pudding

Two old-fashioned favorites—rice pudding and pumpkin pie—come together in this creamy, comforting dessert.
It’s a lovely alternative when you’re craving something homemade and a little different.
Simple Ways to Make Pumpkin Pie a Little Lighter
You don’t need to completely reinvent pumpkin pie to make it work for you. A few small changes can make a difference.
- Try a crustless version. Pumpkin custard or pudding gives you the creamy pumpkin filling without a pastry crust.
- Use plain pumpkin puree. Canned pumpkin pie filling already contains added sugar and spices, while plain pumpkin lets you decide how much sweetness to add.
- Experiment with milk and sweeteners. Depending on the recipe, lower-fat milk or a baking-friendly sugar substitute may help reduce calories.
- Serve smaller slices. A modest slice of a favorite traditional pie can be every bit as satisfying as a large one.
- Keep toppings simple. A little whipped cream and cinnamon are often all you need.
And remember, pumpkin itself is a nutritious ingredient that provides fiber and vitamin A. There’s no reason to save it just for Thanksgiving.
If you like making your own pumpkin puree, here’s my recipe for homemade pressure cooker pumpkin puree.

How Many WW Points Are in Pumpkin Pie?
WW Points vary depending on the ingredients, crust, sweetener and serving size.
A traditional pumpkin pie with pastry crust will generally have more Points than a crustless pumpkin custard, but the exact difference depends on the recipe.
For the most accurate Points value, use the current WW recipe calculator with the ingredients and serving sizes in the recipe you’re making.
I prefer not to rely on older PointsPlus, Freestyle or SmartPoints calculations because WW has changed its program several times over the years.
