Slimming Bites: Inspiration & Recipes for Weight Watchers
Encouragement and inspiration are critical whenever you’re trying to change your habits. This is especially true when the habits involve eating better, losing weight and creating a healthy balanced lifestyle.
Sticking with the slow and steady sensible balanced approach to lasting change can seem dull and out of step when compared with our society’s obsession with the opposing messages of overindulgent excess on one hand, and extreme fad diets on the other.
My mission is to provide you with a constant supply of motivating articles and enticing Weight Watchers friendly recipes to encourage your pursuit of a happy, healthy, balanced life. Here are this week’s hand-picked selections. I hope you find the time and space to sit down, perhaps with a cup of coffee or tea, or glass of wine or bubbly water, and savor them!

6/7/16 GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED!
The winner of the Essential Oils Package is: Maggie, who said, “The easiest thing for me is all of the websites and blogs available for me to use to keep me on track and to give me inspiration for recipes and meal planning. The hardest part for me is when we are on vacation and friends don’t eat as healthy as we do. Always try to do my best but it is challenging when fatty meats and lots of carbs are served at every meal.”

Easiest: finding recipes for nutritious and healthy meals – almost too many
Most difficult: finding really fresh and affordable ingredients… It’s expensive to eat well!
Easiest: Eating healthy foods.
Challenge: Eating unhealthy foods I get a craving for in moderation.
Staying is balance often means putting yourself first, we must remember that self care is not selfish. Planning my meals and snacks helps me stay in balance. The challenge is when others demand more of my care than I have time and energy to give. Deep breaths and long walks help.
I love fresh fruits and vegetables which makes it easy to live a healthy lifestyle. The hard part is that i also love sweets, it is relatively easy to stay away from them during the week, weekends are not as easy.
1) I love discovering new, healthy, tasty recipes! So fun and interesting to try new things and find out that I DO like black beans!!
2) I think that being 60 and staying motivated is the hardest. There are times I just what to chuck it all in and say, “I’ve made it this far without all this healthy stuff….” But then I look at how far I’ve come and start all over again.
Easiest is reminding myself each day that I am doing this for me and that I am striving each day to remain healthy. What I find challenging is finding recipes for one or two servings! I live alone and cooking a recipe for 6-8 servings is frustrating as I am eating it all week! It can be frustrating!
Easiest is to eat fruits and nuts.
Most challenging is to exercise and keep myself motivated to continue.
Finding so many wonderful reworked recipes on blogs & other sites (including this one!), many with Smartpoints, has helped tremendously & kept my diet varied & interesting. So much more info online than ever before. The most challenging, aside from disliking exercising, is the challenge of my Weight Watchers Mobile app scanner that works great at home, helping me to figure out points for meals, but won’t work in the stores, where I need it to decide if a food is worth buying. Can’t get help online, at meetings, or at weightwatchers.com. Soooo very frustrating it’s a challenge in itself to not eat due to negative emotions!
The easiest is that there are many good things to eat–that I like–like to try new combinations.
The most challenging is getting in the proper amount of exercise.
The easiest thing I find about living and eating as a healthy life style is that roasted vegetables, winter or summer vegetables, are so delicious roasted. Virtually no prep and little roasting time makes mealtime a breeze to accomplish.
The hardest thing for me is that I love love love snacks like popcorn, cheetos, mini saltine crackers, etc. Sometimes I give in to the desire but when I focus on leaving the snacks alone I redirect and take on some household chore that I have been procrastinating over, and my snack cravings diminish and sometime diasappear altogether.
