Slimming Bites: Inspiration & Recipes for Weight Watchers
Encouragement and inspiration are critical whenever you’re trying to change your habits. This is especially true when the habits involve eating better, losing weight and creating a healthy balanced lifestyle.
Sticking with the slow and steady sensible balanced approach to lasting change can seem dull and out of step when compared with our society’s obsession with the opposing messages of overindulgent excess on one hand, and extreme fad diets on the other.
My mission is to provide you with a constant supply of motivating articles and enticing Weight Watchers friendly recipes to encourage your pursuit of a happy, healthy, balanced life. Here are this week’s hand-picked selections. I hope you find the time and space to sit down, perhaps with a cup of coffee or tea, or glass of wine or bubbly water, and savor them!

6/7/16 GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED!
The winner of the Essential Oils Package is: Maggie, who said, “The easiest thing for me is all of the websites and blogs available for me to use to keep me on track and to give me inspiration for recipes and meal planning. The hardest part for me is when we are on vacation and friends don’t eat as healthy as we do. Always try to do my best but it is challenging when fatty meats and lots of carbs are served at every meal.”
Congratulations Maggie! Please send an email to support@simple-nourished-living.com to claim your prize. And thanks to all of you who stopped by and participated. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you being part of this community.

Easiest: healthy breakfasts, whether it be smoothies when running late or prepared eggs when I have more time.
Most challenging: preparing fresh, healthy dinners when I would rather go home and do chores so I don’t have to do them on the weekends. I find it very difficult to prepare healthy meals for my family AND have time to do anything else before the clock strikes 8 and I have to again shower and get ready for bed to do it all over again then next day!!
1) What do you find easiest about living a healthy balanced lifestyle? Holding myself accountable by going to my WW meetings and having a buddy that goes with me.
2) What do you find most challenging? Honestly, trying to juggle all of my duties as a parent/daughter/caregiver and taking care of myself.
I think the easiest part is getting easier every day, keeping track of what goes in my mouth is the easiest for me.
The most challenging thing is to not focus to on how much more weight I still need to lose, but I keep going.
I think the easiest thing about living a healthy lifestyle is the “knowing”. Knowing what foods to eat, knowing that being active is key, knowing the resources to tap into when we need some information or help.
The most challenging thing is to make good choices and implement the “knowing” every day despite life’s ups and downs.
The easiest part of living a healthy lifestyle is grocery shopping has gotten a lot less complicated. I know what items to avoid and mostly stay in the outside section of the store. This saves a lot of time.
The hardest part is when I don’t have the whole week planned out and prepped ahead of time. It is especially difficult if it happens on a day that I work late.
1. The easiest is having an exercise bike at home so I don’t have to go to the gym.
2. The hardest is having kids who don’t like frosting so I eat it!
1) The easiest is the fresh fruits and veggies that are becoming available.
2) The most difficult is living with someone (daughter) who doesn’t care for a lot of the dishes I like. So, it’s almost like making 2 meals each meal.
1) What do you find easiest about living a healthy balanced lifestyle? It is easy to find healthy foods and recipes. Your website has so many good recipes and advise it helps keep me motivated and on track.
2) What do you find most challenging? One of the most challenging parts is keeping track of what I eat and how much. I like to put everything in my tracker so I can see how many points I have left, but often write it in my notebook to add later. When I enter everything at once, I usually have gone over my allotment for the day 🙁
I find shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables the easiest. Because I’m eating more of them, I don’t need to worry about them going bad. Plus they’re an easy grab and go food. What I find to be the hardest is going to picnics/parties where people are not serving very healthy choices. I always try to find out what they’re having so I can bulk up on salad and fruit before I go. Or I offer to bring a something that fits with my eating.
The easiest is exercising. I do 20-30 mins. on the elliptical at the gym and I’m done. The most challenging thing is finding dinners that I can have, that my family will eat also.
