(30 Days of Juicing Day #29 - Spiced Autumn Harvest Juice)
Okay, it's not exactly autumn yet, but it's never too early to begin celebrating the flavors of fall. This spiced autumn harvest juice is my own concoction, cobbled together from several recipes that sounded good.
I tasted spice enhanced juices for the first time when Pete and I went to Juice Core a couple weeks ago. They offered several choices that incorporated a variety of ground spices including turmeric, cayenne and cinnamon. I was immediately smitten.
As we move into autumn I'm looking forward to recreating juices with the flavors of some of my favorite sweetly spiced treats like carrot cake, apple cake, and pumpkin pie.
The Skinny on Spiced Autumn Harvest Juice
This spiced autumn harvest juice is spicy, sweet and satisfying. I was surprised at how much juice the sweet potato yielded. According to my calculations each serving has 112 calories and *3 Weight Watchers Points Plus.
Spiced Autumn Harvest Juice
- ½ butternut squash peeled and seeded
- 4 carrots
- 2 red apples peeled and cored
- 1 sweet potato peeled
- 1 inch ginger root
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Wash all ingredients well. Peel and seed those as indicated. Cut into pieces that will fit into your juicer. Juice in the order specified. Add cinnamon and stir or shake to combine. Serve over ice.
