The winner of the InstantPot is Doris B. who said…

  1. I do not own an instant pot, but have so many recipes that I would like to try. It would be nice to own one.
  2. I would love to get something on the table fast because I rarely make anything that takes too long. With an instant pot I would be able to try some things that I would not do the traditional way.
  3. Tonight, I am making chicken fried steak according to Marlene Koch. It is WW friendly, but time consuming, but it is one of my husband’s favorites.

Congratulations Doris. Please send an email to support@simple-nourished-living.com to claim your Instant Pot!

Confession: I still haven’t learned to use my instant pot (affiliate link) with regularity. So I’ve decided to devote what remains of 2020 to overcoming my resistance with a Challenge!

It’s been nearly two years since I assembled this list of 50 WW Friendly Instant Pot Recipes in response to requests from readers. At the time I admitted that while I have an Instant Pot, I used it mostly for it’s saute and slow cook functions. I promised myself I would learn to use all its other functions, especially pressure cooking.

I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve made virtually no progress.  I know it would make life easier, especially with meal prep. But what they say is: A goal without a plan is just a wish.

So, I’ve decided to take the Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything (affiliate link) approach: I’m setting teeny tiny goal(s) for myself.

Tiny Habits Instant Pot Challenge

  1. Learn something new about the Instant Pot every day (right after I read my morning devotional)  and record it here on My Getting Started with the Instant Pot Success Guide
  2. Use my Instant Pot once a week (Sunday afternoons) and share the recipe on Simple Nourished Living.
  3. Celebrate these accomplishments.

To kick things off I’m giving away the  Instant Pot (affiliate link) Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker I purchased several years ago:

  4. Last year we were trying to decide between buying an air fryer or an Instant Pot, and we went with the air fryer. It works great and we use it at least twice a week. Now we want to get an Instant Pot too. Coincidentally I saew an advertisement from Instant Pot that they are coming out with an air fryer attachment that goes with the existing pot.

One goal we have been trying to reach was eliminating restaurant food from our diets. That is the main reason we went with the air fryer, was to get the fried flavor and texture at home. We stlll slip occasionally and buy restaurant food, which is why we want to add the Instant Pot as well.

Last night we ate chicken tenders cooked in the air fryer, with mashed potatoes and gravy.

  5. I want any Instant Pot so I can give it away to my sister. I have one and I have been trying to convince her for months now that she needs to get one!!
I want to be able to food prep more. I think about it every weekend and start to make a plan but I don’t follow through
Last night we had Tomato Beef Stew made in the IP: 35 min and dinner was on the table!! I love it!!

  6. I want an Instant Pot because it’s such a versatile product. I can use it to prepare a variety of foods in a timely manner. I work long hours, full time, and being able to prepare meals fast would be helpful.

  7. 1. I would like the Instant Pot to be able to make quick healthy meals.
    2. I’m not making much progress in exercising for toning…need the flab to tighten up!!
    3. Last night we had supper at church: Hamb patty w/lettuce, tomato, pickle and a small squirt of ketchup/mustard.

  8. I would love one of these little cookers. We live on a fixed income so it isn’t anything I can afford so to win one would be great.
We had peppers and onions grilled with some left over ham over rice. Unsweetened apple sauce for dinner last night.
