WW Recipe of the Day: Tina Fey's Low Calorie Frozen Cool Whip Banana Split
Kids of all ages will love making this low calorie frozen cool whip faux banana split!
I got the idea from an unlikely source, Saturday Night Live alum, Tina Fey. The actress that brought “30 Rock’s” funny gal Liz Lemon to life made an appearance at Oprah's 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus tour stop in St. Paul Minnesota. Turns out that she shed 30 pounds thanks to the WW program.
Fey explained that she lost the weight after moving to New York before she started co-anchoring the SNL Weekend Update desk with Jimmy Fallon in 2000.
She's now a "lifetime WW member" after hitting her weight loss goals. She's not tracking her Points at the moment but plans to before she and longtime pal, Amy Poehler, host the Golden Globes in 2021.
Fey also said she lurks (under a different name) on WW's Connect community, a friendly outlet where WW members can share recipes and support.
These days Fey satisfies her sugar cravings with healthier lower-calorie desserts. "I take a banana and strawberry, and put frozen Cool Whip on it with a chocolate drizzle, and tell myself it's a banana split," she said of her go-to treat.
Turns out frozen cool whip is a cool, creamy alternative to ice cream for a fraction of the calories and WW Points.
I tried out Tina Fey's favorite go-to sweet treat today and found it extremely satisfying. Rod did too.
How Many Weight Watchers Points is Cool Whip?
Each 2 tablespoon serving of Cool Whip whipped topping (original, lite, sugar-free) has 1 WW SmartPoint (green, blue, purple). The extra creamy cool whip with real cream has 2 SmartPoints (green, blue, purple)

You can deduct a point by opting for sugar-free chocolate syrup, turning this into a 1 Point Sweet Treat. Increase the volume of your banana split with more zero point strawberries.
An extra 2-tablespoon serving of frozen cool whip will only cost you a point.
This is a far cry from your standard banana split, which according to my WW App, has over 600 calories and 32 SmartPoints!

If/when you have time, can you help? Thanks, Linda. No worries, I’ll keep trying and see if I can fine someone around here! But.......IF you have time?

Hi Linda, it's all eBooks. What a lot of folks do is just print off recipes as they make them. Then they keep the printouts in the binder. Are you able to access the eBooks?
