Why I Love This Recipe

Fast and easy. Everything mixes together in just a few minutes.
Simple ingredients. Uses everyday items I usually have in my fridge or pantry.
Fresh and flavorful. Tzatziki, olives, and tomatoes give it a bright Mediterranean taste.
WW friendly. A light but filling lunch that fits into a slow and steady weight loss plan.
Easy to customize. Swap the greens, use a wrap instead of a pita, or add your favorite veggies.

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Tuna – I use a low-sodium, wild-caught light tuna pouch packed in water. A can of tuna works the same. Use salmon if you prefer.
  • Tzatziki Yogurt Dip – Adds creaminess and Greek flavor. Any store-bought version works. You can also use plain Greek yogurt with a squeeze of lemon and garlic.
  • Kalamata olives – A little goes a long way for flavor. Try chopped sun-dried tomatoes or a spoonful of olive tapenade instead.
  • Baby spinach – Fresh spinach adds crunch and color. Arugula or mixed greens also work well.
  • Tomato – Campari tomatoes are sweet and juicy, but any ripe tomato will do.
  • Whole wheat pita – I used Joseph’s Flax, Oat Bran, and Whole Wheat Pita. A whole wheat wrap, English muffin, or low-carb pita are easy substitutes.

Recipe Notes

• Add a pinch of fresh or dried dill for even more Mediterranean flavor.

• Mix in chopped sun-dried tomatoes for extra richness.
• Serve the tuna salad on whole wheat crackers, pita chips, or toast instead of stuffing it into a pita.
• For a lower carb option, serve the tuna salad over mixed greens.
