Weight Watchers Diet & The Great Diet Comparison

We all know that losing weight is not rocket science. But sometimes, it can feel that way. Using a space travel metaphor, 20 popular diets are rated according to effectiveness, healthfulness and ease of use. Some are too restrictive, expensive or not supported by science. Others may work for the short term but are not conducive to keeping the weight off in the real world.

The best of them, including my beloved Weight Watchers diet program, support you in making the lifestyle changes that help you get to your goal and then assist you in maintaining a healthy weight for the rest of your life. As one of my favorite WW receptionists used to say when people asked her about Weight Watchers, “If you want to lose weight, most any diet will work but if you want to lose weight AND keep it off, join Weight Watchers.”

I know this. Weight Watchers is the only diet that has ever worked for me in the long run.

So, why after all these years do I still find myself getting sucked into the popular diet of the moment over and over again? Why do I end up trying The 8-Hour Diet when my brother announces it’s working for him. Why did I just download LeBootcamp Diet to my iPad last week after reading an article about it?

Because they’re new? Different? Sexy? Promise a quick fix?

Good question.

Let’s face it Weight Watchers isn’t sexy. More than 50 years old and based on the latest research, it offers a healthy balanced slow and steady approach to weight loss focused on building a new sustainable lifestyle. Weight Watchers shows up on top in this Great Diet Comparison because it works. I need to remember that the next time I’m tempted by the latest diet of the moment ๐Ÿ™‚
