What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
My a ha moment was when I was hospitalized with supraventricular tachycardia (an abnormally rapid heart rhythm) and a heartbeat of 256.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
My eating habits have changed massively. I used to eat a lot of fast food because it was easier than cooking. Now I prep my meals and eat mostly fruit and vegetables.
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
I can go longer distances and not be short of breath. I can go 8 to 9 miles and still be ready for more.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
Going down from a size 22 to a size 8.
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
I’ve lost 103 pounds and it’s taken me about 18 months.
My Favorite Recipe Easy Sautéed Kale
- Bag of chopped kale
- Minced garlic
- Natural olive oil
- Black pepper
Put the olive oil and garlic in the sauté pan and wait until it starts heating up. Add the kale and sauté for about 7 minutes and then serve with a little ground pepper on top.
Any Advice and/or Words of Wisdom for Others Who Are Struggling?
Never give up. Keep going. You can do it. It is easier to give up and take the short route, so change your thinking and take the long route because in the end IT’S worth it!
