Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
From age 5 to 22 I have been obese. I have been called every name in the book.
I was a always the biggest boy in class and always had to go to the husky section when I was a kid for clothes.
I have had low self-esteem because of my weight.
My highest weight was 344 pounds because of lack of knowledge of nutrition and exercise.
I’m at 215 pounds now.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
The moment I committed to losing weight was when I was 344 pounds and it was hard to breathe.
I had chronic lower back and knee pain due to all the weight I was carrying around. Also an irregular heartbeat due to my weight.
I looked in the mirror and cried because I was tired of always being the fat kid.
I started my journey the next day.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
My eating habits have changed a lot. I don’t eat past 9pm because if you eat after that, your food turns into fat.
I don’t eat 3 burgers, a large fry, large soda and a cinnamon roll for dinner anymore.
I don’t eat candy and junk when I’m watching tv anymore.
I read all the ingredients before I eat anything now.
Before, I ate candy, fast-food, drank soda, and basically anything with no nutrition.
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
My fitness before was terrible. I used to walk up a flight of stairs and be exhausted.
I never exercised at all.
I even hated walking because it made me tired.
Now I’m in the gym 4 to 5 times a week, lifting weights so I can build muscle mass and I even started running on the treadmill . I never thought I would be running in my life.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
The biggest change is my body. I have lost a total of 129 pounds.
I have noticeable muscle mass now. I am even starting to get some abs.
Also, my shirts went from 4X to mediums and my pants went from 50-inch waist to a 36-inch waist.
I’m so happy about it!
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
I have lost a total of 129 pounds. It took me about 9 months to lose almost 100 pounds, but to get where I’m at now, with muscle and definition, about 7 months, but total about 2 years of consistent work and focus.
Any Advice and/or Words of Wisdom You’d Like to Share?
Never give up. Take all the hate and use that as motivation.
Stay consistent and dedicated and you will see results.
Also, stay away from white sugar and processed foods, it is made to kill you slowly.
Set short-term goals first, and then long term goals, because if you set long-term goals first you will be overwhelmed.
