Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
I have always been heavy, but I reached my highest weight after having children. I was so focused on being there for my family, I lost myself.
Being heavy made life very difficult. Everything was physically a struggle and I suffered a lot.
I also felt ignored and forgotten by society, because I was so often rejected and looked down upon.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
I felt like my life is falling apart.
I was stressed and overworked, having difficulties in my marriage, and very close to losing my house.
It was in that time that I realized the only thing I had complete control of was my own health and weight.
That is when I was finally inspired to start my journey, and I have lost 146 pounds so far.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
Sweets were always my favorite before. Plus quick and easy foods like boxed pizza and lasagna.
If I was binging, I would eat whatever I could find.
Now I cook healthy meals, mostly plant based.
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
It is night and day! I can do so much now that I never could before.
It’s such an amazing feeling.
I have a passion for hiking and I hike six miles a day.
Before I could barely walk around the house.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
Now I have the confidence to take charge of other parts of my life and the energy to really live!
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
It has been a year-and-a-half.
I started slowly at the start of 2016, and lost 55 pounds in that year.
In January 2017, I kicked my journey into high gear, and I had lost 91 pounds since 1/1/17.
Any Advice and/or Words of Wisdom You’d Like to Share?
Educate yourself, but do not be overwhelmed with all that is out there.
Choose the program that is right for you and get started.
