Losing weight is a body, mind and spirit proposition. Eating right and moving more are important which is why you will find tons of easy, healthy recipes and weight loss tips. The mind and spirit are integral too which is why I collect and share motivational quotes. Words have power. A steady supply of inspiring words are also essential to my success.
I love devotionals. I've been reading them daily for years. I've decided to begin sharing a weekly devotional specific to weight loss. I've found it helpful to read and re-read it every day of the week, until I have it committed to memory. The positive words soak into every part of my being refreshing me and giving me strength.
This week's devotional is all about Gratitude I've been keeping a gratitude journal for years. The benefits of gratitude are undeniable which is why it's worthwhile to cultivate the practice of counting your blessings: It can transform your life.

My Weekly Weight Loss Devotional: With Gratitude
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. ~Psalm 100:4
Life is always less than perfect, so there's always something to complain about if we want to. But the Bible says, "Do everything without grumbling or arguing." (Philippians 2:14) Why? Because the negativity snowballs if we entertain in. On the other hand, if we focus on the things we have to be grateful for, we enter God's gates with thanksgiving.
A spirit of praise and thanksgiving is something we should make a vital, indispensable part of our everyday lives. No matter who we are, where we are, or what the time or occasion, we always have something for which to be thankful.
In The Daniel Plan we encourage you to write down at least three things you're grateful for every day. Writing them down for even a couple of weeks can measurably increase your level of happiness and contentment.
It's also helpful to tell someone what you're grateful for, especially if it's something they have done. Saying thank you uplifts both of you. And if there's a concrete way you can show your gratitude, like doing something for someone else or giving a gift, that will root you even deeper into the fertile soil of contentment.
When we meditate on what we're grateful for, we will supercharge our moods and have a far richer experience of God's powerful presence in our lives.
"If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough." ~ Meister Eckhart
