Losing weight is a body, mind and spirit proposition. Eating right and moving more are important which is why you will find tons of easy, healthy recipes and weight loss tips. The mind and spirit are integral too which is why I collect and share motivational quotes. Words have power. A steady supply of inspiring words are also essential to my success.

I love devotionals. I’ve been reading them daily for years. I’ve decided to begin sharing a weekly devotional specific to weight loss. I’ve found it helpful to read and re-read it every day of the week, until I have it committed to memory. The positive words soak into every part of my being refreshing me and giving me strength.

My hope and prayer is that they do the same for you.

This week’s devotional really speaks to me. As someone who has struggled with food and weight I realize how prone I am to placing my life “on hold” until I lose ten pounds or get to my goal weight. As though I need to earn the right to live fully. To buy the dress, take the vacation, apply for the job, sign up for the class, express my view, share my talents, express my love. How CRAZY. Life is precious. Every day a gift. I have a responsibility to get busy living my life fully right here right now. NOW is the time!

My Weekly Weight Loss Devotional: Now is the Time

“Now is the time for my soul to rejoice!”

Now is the time to enjoy every moment of life. What better time than NOW to recognize and give thanks for the beauty and power of God that shine forth from me as love and compassion.

Now is the time for me to let my friends and loved ones know just how much they mean to me and the many ways they have blessed me. Now is a golden opportunity to let others know of my love for them.

Now is the time to give thanks for what was, what is, and whatever will be. I am a link in the circle of life that spans the globe, and I feel a divine connection with all creation.

Now is the time for me to expand my mind by being open to the unlimited possibilities that await me.

Now is the time for my soul to rejoice for the wondrous blessing that God has given me.

“I will sing praises to my God all my life long.” ~Psalms 146:2
