The winner of the InstantPot is Doris B. who said…

  1. I do not own an instant pot, but have so many recipes that I would like to try. It would be nice to own one.
  2. I would love to get something on the table fast because I rarely make anything that takes too long. With an instant pot I would be able to try some things that I would not do the traditional way.
  3. Tonight, I am making chicken fried steak according to Marlene Koch. It is WW friendly, but time consuming, but it is one of my husband’s favorites.

Congratulations Doris. Please send an email to support@simple-nourished-living.com to claim your Instant Pot!

Confession: I still haven’t learned to use my instant pot (affiliate link) with regularity. So I’ve decided to devote what remains of 2020 to overcoming my resistance with a Challenge!

It’s been nearly two years since I assembled this list of 50 WW Friendly Instant Pot Recipes in response to requests from readers. At the time I admitted that while I have an Instant Pot, I used it mostly for it’s saute and slow cook functions. I promised myself I would learn to use all its other functions, especially pressure cooking.

I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve made virtually no progress.  I know it would make life easier, especially with meal prep. But what they say is: A goal without a plan is just a wish.

So, I’ve decided to take the Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything (affiliate link) approach: I’m setting teeny tiny goal(s) for myself.

Tiny Habits Instant Pot Challenge

  1. Learn something new about the Instant Pot every day (right after I read my morning devotional)  and record it here on My Getting Started with the Instant Pot Success Guide
  2. Use my Instant Pot once a week (Sunday afternoons) and share the recipe on Simple Nourished Living.
  3. Celebrate these accomplishments.

To kick things off I’m giving away the  Instant Pot (affiliate link) Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker I purchased several years ago:

  1. 1. I read on FB and in blogs how people love them and use them to save time with meal prep. I am all about meal prep! It has helped me lose 105 lbs. (5 more to get to goal!).
    2. Drinking more water every day.
    3. Slow Cooker Chicken & Gravy Made Light

  2. I want an instant pot not only to try new recipes. When I first had a pressure cooker and cooked one of my recipes the pressure cooker blew its top, literally. The roast popped out the gravy hit the ceiling and since then i haven’t used one. I really like to give it another try. I made a creamy chicken breast dish with butternut squash and onions in the crock pot.

  3. Why do you want an instant pot?
I’d like to add some new recipes to my repertoire. I’ve gotten into the habit of cooking the same things all the time.

What’s something you’ve been wanting to accomplish with little progress?
Regular exercise! I just don’t make time for it in my day. I do manage to go to what I call old lady exercise at my apartment complex three days a week most weeks, but I want to add walking on the days the exercise group doesn’t meet.

What did you have for dinner last night?
A turkey sandwich with a salad because I had slow cooker salsa chicken with rice for lunch.

  4. Why do you want an instant pot?
I am a busy single mom currently pursuing a Masters degree. My health has went to the trash meanwhile and the instant pot would help me to continue my journey with my fanily.
What’s something you’ve been wanting to accomplish with little progress?
I want to be able to enjoy long walks like I used to before the weight gain.
What did you have for dinner last night?
    I had a grilled chicken sandwich! ?

  5. 1. All those buttons seem easy to complicated, but so many people have mentioned that it’s absolutely easy with just a few truths!
    2. As I gotten older, I’ve wanted to eat healthier meals. This seems to be just the answer since pressure cooking helps to keep nutrients locked in rather than being simmered away in water.
    3. We had my homemade pepper steak last night & I’m thinking how much better it might taste by using a pressure cooker!

  6. I want an instapot to enable me to cook healthy and tasty meals at home! I have wanted to accomplish cooking fast, healthy, WW friendly meals and been unable to so far. I believe that an instapot would help me in my goals!

  7. 1. To hopefully help make dinner easier and healthier, with less dishes 😉
    2. Losing weight & fitting back into my clothing
    3. Left over pork loin

  8. 1. I would like an Instant Pot for the evenings that I work so I could make a healthy meal.
    2. I have had trouble getting back into a regular exercise routine.
    3. Pizza and blueberries.

  9. I live in a senior’s residence that is about to lose it’s dining room due to lack of diners so I think an instant pot would be good for me. The plan is to cook enough to freeze, and maybe even get better at meal planning.
