The last time I was at Target I grabbed a box of these Simply Balanced Bars to try. Have you noticed the new Simply Balanced line of products at Target?
I tend to wear my blinders when I grocery shop, just like Weight Watchers taught me. Sticking to my list. Mostly shopping the perimeter of the store where all the fresh food is. And only dashing into the aisles to grab what I need.
But sometimes I get curious and have to take a closer look to see what's new.
Lately, everywhere I turn I've been seeing a proliferation of products with "simple" or "simply" in their name. Of course, I love anything with "simple" or "simply," in the title. But somehow I think all the savvy product marketers already knew that!
So when I saw these simply balanced nut seed bars on the shelf I felt compelled to pick them up and check out the label.

I think there were Simply Balanced Bars with fewer calories but I'm all about nuts and seeds. They are healthy, satisfying and work for me. I brought it home and snapped a quick picture before giving it a taste test. It was good. Chewy. Crunchy. Packed with nuts and seeds. And not overly sweet. I'm a fan.
So I got online checked out the Target website to learn more about Simply Balanced Bars and other Simply Balanced Products.
Here's what it said:
"Target is introducing Simply Balanced, a delicious food collection designed to take the guesswork out of eating well. Free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives, the collection is built on purity, simplicity… and tastiness.
Simply Balanced has committed to refrain from using 105 common food additive ingredients, so you can be confident you’re doing something good for your health and body. The vast majority of products within the collection are made without genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and as part of Target’s commitment to wellness, Target is pledging to remove all GMOs from the Simply Balanced collection by the end of 2014.
Launching June 9 with the full collection to arrive in stores by October, the line features nearly 250 products, catering to those with an appetite for ingredients they want and a food label that they can understand."
Seems like a step in the right direction, doesn't it?

Does anyone know why the simply balanced nut and seed bars from target are no longer available? Also does anyone know if this unavailability is temporary or permanent? Thanks
