I’ve started holding mini-cooking demonstrations in my home kitchen. (I’ve signed up as an independent consultant with the largest direct seller of kitchen tools and everything you need to cook and entertain at home and thought this would be a great way to share what I’m doing in casual fun way.)
The first one was last friday from noon to 1:00 and it was a lot of fun. Five women, including my mom and sister who were visiting from out of state participated.
I made a simple and delicious Satay Chicken Pasta Salad, while everyone watched. Then we enjoyed the salad while sharing more cooking tips and recipes with each other.
Two of the ladies are coming back for this Friday’s demonstration of a wonderful quick, easy and impressive appetizer – Tangy Pepper-Pecan Brie! (Everyone wanted to come back, but my mother and sister had to fly home and my friend, Beth, has a scheduling conflict.)
Why Cooking Demonstrations?
I love hanging out in the kitchen. It’s my favorite room in the house. The more time I spend in the kitchen cooking and baking with other people and for other people the happier, healthier and more relaxed I am.
Many people have forgotten – or never learned – how fun and easy cooking can be. Others are amazed that healthy food can be so simple and so good. I want to help as many people as I can discover the simple pleasure of just being in the kitchen with others. And to help them increase their kitchen confidence.
Cooking and eating together is a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy one another. To feed your body and your soul. You can tell people all day long how easy cooking can be, but nothing teaches like experience.
And that’s what I hope to do with my simple and delicious cooking demonstrations here in my little Phoenix kitchen. Help people discover how easy and delicious cooking can be.
I would love to have you join us sometime.
