Slimming Bites: Inspiration & Recipes for Weight Watchers

Encouragement and inspiration are critical whenever you’re trying to change your habits. This is especially true when the habits involve eating better, losing weight and creating a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Sticking with the slow and steady sensible balanced approach to lasting change can seem dull and out of step when compared with our society’s obsession with the opposing messages of overindulgent excess on one hand, and extreme fad diets on the other.

My mission is to provide you with a constant supply of motivating articles and enticing Weight Watchers friendly recipes to encourage your pursuit of a happy, healthy, balanced life.  Here are this week’s hand-picked selections. I hope you find the time and space to sit down, perhaps with a cup of coffee or tea, or glass of wine or bubbly water, and savor them!

The winner of the Essential Oils Package is: Maggie, who said, “The easiest thing for me is all of the websites and blogs available for me to use to keep me on track and to give me inspiration for recipes and meal planning. The hardest part for me is when we are on vacation and friends don’t eat as healthy as we do. Always try to do my best but it is challenging when fatty meats and lots of carbs are served at every meal.”

  1. Eating fresh and local is the #1 positive of living a healthy balanced lifestyle. The most challenging aspect is the pre-planning and shopping on a busy schedule.

  2. 1) What do you find easiest about living a healthy balanced lifestyle? The fact that I really like all kinds of fruits and vegetables, and I am willing to try different recipes. 2) What do you find most challenging? What I find challenging is buying items that are more expensive which are part of a recipe. I am also very busy during the day, and time to cook can be a problem.

  3. What I find easiest is that once I shop and prep my veggies and fruit, I can simply grab and go. What I find most challenging is eating out.

  4. I love eating all the fresh fruits and veggies – find myself snacking on them at night and during the day for a quick pick-me up. The natural sugars stay longer in my system and I don’t have that sugar crash.

The most challenging is the exercise – need to make it more part of my daily return.

    Love my new healthy body

  5. The easiest thing is having fresh fruits and vegetables readily available. The most challenging is making time for prepping/planning meals and exercise!

  6. The easiest thing has been keeping healthy foods in the house. I am loving how good I am feeling and how yummo salads and chicken can be. The hardest thing has been planning and tracking. I am working 10 hours a day and it can be tricky to carve out enough time to do that.

  7. I find shopping for the fresh fruits and veg’s the easiest thing about living a balanced lifestyle.
The most challenging is exercising. I have to make a goal each week and mark my calendar busy to get my work out in.
I love my new health lifestyle.

  8. I think the easiest part is having so many resources to guide myself and my family into making healthy choices. There are so many sites and books now catered to healthy lifestyles and my husband and I enjoy cooking. The hardest is pushing that lifestyle outside of the kitchen. We have a new baby and getting outside and exercising just hasn’t been on my list of priorities lately.

  9. Most challenging is exercising. I hate to exercise.
Easiest is cooking and eating healthy, especially in the summer when I have fresh fruits and veggies.

  10. 1) What do you find easiest about living a healthy balanced lifestyle? There are far more healthy options outside of the home than there used to be. 2) What do you find most challenging? Planning…as a mom of four who works outside of the home, I sometimes can’t find the time to meal plan and prep for a healthy week or even a healthy day! For me, planning is essential for my success, so a week without planning is a week with failure.

    1. 1. The easiest about living a healthy balanced lifestyle is that there are more options at the store of good tasting items to make or purchase. The selections are so much varied now.
      2. the most challenging is planning for family meals, especially with family members liking and/or disliking certain foods. If I planned for myself it would be easier.

    2. I find I get bored with dieting! Counting points, counting calories, low carbs, low fat! It is very confusing! And My husband is diabetic, so I almost feel like I have to make 2 different meals!
