Lucky Leprechaun Juice
Lucky Leprechaun Juice

(30 Days of Juicing Day #19 – Ciao Bella Juice)

Peter and I went on a little Juicing field trip this week. After finding an article about the 10 Best Juice Bars in Phoenix we thought it would be fun to check a couple of them out.

Our first stop was The Juice Core, a micro juicery specializing in raw organic old pressed juice, tucked away on 7137 E. Stetson in Old Town Scottsdale. The gracious staff invited us to sample more than a dozen seasonal juices before deciding on our purchase.

I got the Lucky Leprechaun Juice made with Kale, Spinach, Sunflower Sprouts, Green Apple, Ginger, and Lemon which was bright and zesty and surprisingly, not too green tasting.

Could it be that drinking a beverage called “Lucky Leprechaun” is a lot more appealing than kale-spinach-apple juice??? Good marketing is vital to a successful juicing business ๐Ÿ™‚

Skinny on Green Leprechaun Juice

I attempted to replicate the Lucky Leprechaun juice at home this morning. The only ingredient I didn’t have was sunflower sprouts. My home version tasted pretty close to what I remembered. And I’m happy to report that this is one I would make again. My taste buds have done a lot of adjusting in just a couple of weeks.

According to my calculations each serving has 78 calories and 2* Weight Watchers Points Plus. (I only count the calories from the apples to determine points. I’m not concerned about the negligible calories from the spinach, kale, ginger and lemon.)

When my apples are not organic, I peel and core them.

Enjoy!
