WW Recipe of the Day: 3-Ingredient Low Fat Banana Bread

My favorite thing to make with overripe bananas is banana bread. Of all the recipes I’ve tried through the years the one I keep returning to again and again is this simple from scratch low fat banana bread.

I’d never considered making banana bread from a cake mix until recently when I was running low on flour and I’m so glad I did! This quick and easy recipe for 3-Ingredient Banana Bread is delicious—everyone who tried it loved it’s light texture.

All you need is 3-4 ripe bananas, eggs, and a box of cake mix to make this low fat banana bread. Talk about easy peasy!

  1. with the 3 ingredient banana bread recipe using the yellow cake mix, what if you used the sugar free cake mix would the points change?

    1. Hi Jean,
Yes, using a sugar free cake mix will lower the points. According to the WW Recipe Builder the regular yellow cake mix has 82 points. The sugar free one has 43 points. So 39 points are shaved off the entire recipe or about 1 – 2 points per serving. Hope this helps. ~Martha

This was so easy and delish!! I used a sugar free cake mix and you couldnโ€™t even tell? Thanks for sharing.

For the first time making it, I used a Jiffy yellow cake mix. I used 2 large bananas and 1 egg plus 2 tablespoons egg and 1/4 cup chopped walnuts. It made one 8โ€x4โ€ bread Took longer to bake almost an hour but it turned out well. I didnโ€™t have ripe bananas so I baked them in the oven 10 minutes at 400 degrees, I think I could have baked them longer at a lower temp for more flavor. All in all, it is very moist and satisfying and slices up nice. Iโ€™d like to try this using fruitcake mix

    1. Hi Shannon, Though I haven’t tried this recipe with thawed frozen bananas, I think they should work fine. ~Martha
