More and more people are turning to yoga to improve their health and wellness.
I love it when I discover that someone I admire is also a yoga enthusiast.
Here are some of my favorites:
Rick Bayless, restauranteaur, television chef and author and Mexican cooking expert. I love his cookbooks and hope to visit his Chicago restaurants, Frontera Grill and Topolobampo one of these days.
Mireille Guiliano, author of the best selling book, French Women Don’t Get Fat and for over twenty years a senior executive with Champagne Veuve Clicquot. She demonstrate that a love of food, wine and yoga are not mutually exclusive and that it is possible to not get fat while savoring the pleasures of life.
Christiane Northrup, MD, author of several best selling books including The Wisdom of Menopause: Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing During the Change, 2nd Edition.
Mehmet, Oz, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon, award-winning author and Oprah’s favorite doctor. The book he wrote with Dr Roizen, You: On A Diet: The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management provides great insight into the biology of dieting and a gradual common sense approach to shedding pounds sustainably.
Suzanne Somers, actress and best selling author of several books, including her most recent, Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones, in which one whole chapter is devoted to yoga and the positive effect it has had on her life.
Victoria Moran, Speaker, life coach and author of several books including one of my favorites for dealing with the emotional aspects of overeating, Fit From Within : 101 Simple Secrets to Change Your Body and Your Life – Starting Today and Lasting Forever.
Is there anyone you admire who does yoga? I’m not talking about yoga teachers who have made yoga the focus of their lives, that’s another topic completely, but people who use yoga as a tool in their lives.
