I started to gain a lot of weight in my early 30's after divorce.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or "A-Ha Moment" That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
I had a massive heart attack with cardiac arrest when I was 48 years old.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
I eat basically the Mediterranean style diet. I watch my fat, saturated fat, sugar and just basically all unhealthy food.
I was a butter-a-holic before. I put it on almost anything. I ate Cheetos and McDonalds for breakfast.
Now, it's oatmeal (not instant packets) with all natural no salt added peanut butter with unsweetened almond milk. I limit red meat and meat in general.
I eat lots of beans, lentils and vegetables. Whole wheat pasta, bread etc. and I use non-fat greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
Ha. Huge difference. I walk on the treadmill (affiliate link) at 5am every morning for 1 hour. 5 incline and 4.0 MPH. Weather permitting, I also walk outside at night for 1 hour.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
I'm 5'7" tall and 130 lbs now. At my heaviest I was 260 lbs. My cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose is all perfect now. My EKG doesn't even show signs of a prior heart attack.
I'm very fit for my age (I'm 52 now). I love the way I look in clothes. People can't believe it's me. I do wish I could do something about the areas that show that I was heavy at one time. Lose skin I suppose.
Do You Have A Favorite Recipe To Share?
Yes, I love American Heart Association's Turkey Chili. It is scrumptious!
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
I've lost 130 lbs. and it took me about 1-½ years.

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
