Walking for Exercise and Weight Management
Today's weight loss success story has an interesting back story...
I was with my good friend Beth recently when I began ranting about two newspaper articles that had infuriated me:
The first article exposed how the sugar industry paid scientists in the 1960s to play down the link between sugar and heart disease and promote saturated fat as the culprit instead. After the manipulated research was published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, the debate about sugar and heart disease died down, while low-fat diets gained the endorsement of many health authorities. You can read the entire article here, How The Sugar Industry Shifted The Blame to Fat (NYT).
The second was an editorial from last Sunday, Before You Spend $26,000 on Weight Loss Surgery, Do This. Two medical directors of well respected university-based obesity clinics shared their dismay at suggestions from the medical community that bariatric surgery should be a standard option for diabetes treatment, while not recommending a far better, safer, cheaper alternative – restricting carb intake. (You can read the entire post here.)

She responded, "You need to talk to my friend, Ralph."
Then shared that the last time he went to his doctor he had been prescribed several medications for diabetes and high blood pressure. When he had inquired about the possibility of cleaning up his diet and exercise instead, his doctor basically said, "Good luck with that."
Ralph got mad and decided to take control of his health.
I sent him an email asking him to share the details of his experience.
It's stories like Ralph's that make my heart sing. He proves that it is possible to lose weight and get healthy, regardless of past unhealthy behaviors, when you commit to it.
Read on to discover how Ralph lost 40 pounds in 4 months and improved his BP and A1c by choosing healthy food and fitness over prescription drugs...

Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure in May of 2016 and they also told me that I was 40 pounds over weight. I was prescribed three different drugs to deal with the conditions.
I decided NOT to take the drugs. I went home and removed all foods that contributed to my condition.
I consulted an L.A.C.M. (Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Medicine) and he recommended that I get a "Glycemic Index Chart" and provided me with a custom formulated herbal mixture.
I make vegetable smoothies from items that register 15 on the glycemic index chart mixed with a high quality P-Protein.
