Slimming Bites Inspiration and Recipes for Weight Watchers

But first, here’s a collection of Weight Watchers friendly articles and recipes for you. I call these posts, Slimming Bites from Other Sites and it’s been almost a year since my last last one. Crazy but true.

The internet is such a wealth of  helpful information and delicious recipes for Weight Watchers and others pursuing sensible weight loss and healthy balanced living.

I love sharing my favorite discoveries with you here.

Enjoy!

‘Diet’ products can make you fat, study shows – If you’ve questioned why sugar is so expensive on Weight Watchers SmartPoints Program, you’ll want to read this.

Researchers found that rats fed a diet high in sugar but low in fat — meant to imitate many popular diet foods — increased body fat mass when compared to rats fed a balanced rodent diet.

The high-sugar diet induced a host of other problems, including liver damage and brain inflammation. (ScienceDaily)

10 Reasons I Love Weight Watchers — Alexis, a Weight Watchers Ambassador who has lost 115 pounds and kept it off over the past 2+ years, talks about the advantages of Weight Watchers over other weight loss programs.

As a fellow WW and active lifetime member, I agree with every one of her points.  (Organize Yourself Skinny)

Cheesy Italian Cauliflower Bake — A Weight Watchers friendly, gluten-free, low carb alternative to baked pasta with just SmarPoints from Alisha – I can’t wait to try.  (Meal Planning Mommies)

Healthy Greek Nachos — Like Kristen, I can see these becoming a staple in our house this summer as the weather is heating up and I naturally turn to recipes that are more fresh and light. Make them vegetarian by skipping the chicken and using either hummus or chickpeas instead. (Slender Kitchen)

Weight Watchers Friendly Vegan Snacks — A collection of snack recipes for those who want to try to keep animal products out of their diet. (Snack-Girl)

All About Air Fryers — If you love the taste of fried food but not excess calories and fat, this appliance delivers. Here are five reason an air fryer is worth the hype and four recipes to try. (Hungry Girl)

AIR FRYER GIVEAWAY DETAILS…

We are giving away the Cozyna Air Fryer (Original 3.2L), recommended by Hungry Girl who said…

If you love the taste of fried food but not excess calories and fat, this appliance delivers. Here at Hungryland, we’ve gotten pretty good at re-creating fried food sans guilt with our own “faux-fry” oven method. But I’ve gotta say, the recipes we tried in our air fryer came out even crispier. It gets better: We tried them with and without a small amount of oil (per the air fryer instructions) and found that NO added oil is needed to achieve that crispy finish.

It’s NOT a uni-tasker. I’d hesitate to recommend splurging on a kitchen gadget that can only do one thing. So I was pretty happy to learn that our air fryer can also bake, grill, and roast. I’m talking meatballs, steak… even muffins and cake! The manual includes a comprehensive chart with foods, temps, and times, which I LOVE.

It’s a time saver! My oven takes around 10 minutes to pre-heat, but an air fryer takes only about 3 minutes. Plus, some recipes cook WAY faster in an air fryer… My butternut squash fries were air-fryer ready in just 12 minutes, versus the 35 minutes they take in the oven!

Clean-up is a breeze. No messy pans or oily skillets. You can toss the fryer pan and the basket right into the dishwasher when you’re done with ’em.

The built-in timer has an auto switch-off feature to keep the absent-minded chef in check. Have you ever gotten distracted while something was in the oven and returned to burnt food? Our air fryer’s self-timer turns off the unit when time is up!

  1. For me it is to not give up, even if I have a few bad days, maybe even gain a couple of pounds, do not get sucked into the negative feelings and go right back to the plan!

  2. The Water—You must drink the recommended amount of water or you will not lose the weight

  3. Realizing how important food journal’s are and being aware of the “extra” points that come from licking a spoon or taking a taste. Once on the lips- forever on the hips!

  4. I would have to say that tracking gives me accountability and leads to more control. I make sure to track everything every day.

  5. I became a Weight Watchers lifetime member of and decided I knew it all and no longer needed further guidance but slow the weight returned. I then knew those changes in eating are in fact necessary for one’s lifetime so I am now back to my meetings, back at my goal and lifetime and know I can’t do it without that accountability and support each week – it’s my weekly happy place!

  6. My aha moment was realizing that I hadn’t cried or felt sorry for myself in a good while! I actually feel better about myself and have more self confidence! My knees don’t hurt all the time and even my back is feeling better now! I will always have the arthritis but less weight will mean less pressure on the knees and back. I was depressed about everything…my weight, my youngest moving out…but I feel now I can tackle anything, including my weight! And I love my Weight Watchers Community! Thank you for all the wonderful recipes you send our way!
