Enjoyable exercise is an important part of healthy balanced living.
For a happy, healthy balanced life, it’s important to get moving on a regular basis.
For me that means generous amounts of walking and gentle realistic yoga.
Have you heard about the benefits of yoga? It can be one of the keys to helping you find your healthy balance!
Unfortunately, contemporary culture has many people convinced that yoga is just for the young, skinny and athletic.
The truth is that yoga is for everyone. In fact some of my best and most dedicated clients are well into their 50s and 60s.
So don’t let your age or current fitness level be an excuse for not experiencing the benefits of yoga.
It’s never too late to get started. All you need to do is find a gentle yoga class for beginners.
I began doing yoga to help with severe lower back pain and sciatica, which proved to be very effective.
In addition to relieving my lower back pain, yoga helped me to reduce tension headaches, lose weight, lower borderline high blood pressure and feel better.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Here’s some of the other great things that have happened since I began doing yoga:
- Cured my back pain and sciatica attributed to herniated disks
- Lost thirty pounds and keep it off
- Normalized borderline high blood pressure
- Alleviated tension headaches
- More calm and balanced most of the time
- Kinder and more accepting of myself and others
- Gained strength and flexibility
- Better focus and concentration
It’s the only form of exercise other than walking that I have been compelled to keep doing for years. It’s wonderful when you find that form of exercise that you actually look forward to doing and encourage you to keep searching until you find yours.
Yoga had so many positive effects on my life, I decided to become certified to teach and now get to help beginning students discover the benefits of yoga in a gentle safe way.
You will find lots of articles about yoga here including yoga for stress relief, yoga for back pain, and yoga for weight loss. There’s also information about many of my favorite yoga resources, equipment, books, CDs and DVDs.
Of course, there are dozens of ways to get enjoyable exercise. You don’t have to do yoga but you have to do something so find things you love to do that get you moving and just do them!
