(30 Days of Juicing Day #26 – Iron Rich Green Juice Recipe)
This delightfully green juice came about from my simple need to use up some fruits and veggies I had in the fridge.
I haven’t yet made a juice with broccoli, but I’ve been wanting to try it – so today’s my lucky day.
As Martha noted back on Day #15 when she made her Green Pineapple Juice, the broccoli taste does come through quite strongly.
So, if you’re not a big fan of raw broccoli, you may want to add enough other items (like apple, carrots or lemon), to help sweeten the taste. Just be careful to not overdo it by adding too many sugary fruits and veggies.
I ended up adding quite a few ingredients myself to this juice, but that was mainly because I wanted to come up with two servings (1 cup each).

The Skinny on Iron Rich Green Juice
This lively green juice is rich in iron, vitamins A, B-9 and K, manganese, potassium, calcium (along with many other vitamins and minerals), thanks to the broccoli and spinach.
According to my calculations, this juice recipe provides about 120 calories and 3* Weight Watchers Points Plus per serving. (I’m only counting the juice from the pear and tangelo to determine calories and points. I’m not too concerned about the negligible calories from the broccoli, spinach, cucumber, lemon, lime and ginger.)

I am told that I’m not supposed to eat kale or spinach because of kidney disease. So aside from broccoli what greens can I put in my smoothies? And how many smoothies a day did you drink on your 60-day journey?
You can juice whatever greens you want. I had one juice a day during my month of juicing experiment. ~Martha
