THE WINNER OF THE GIFT CARD & ESSENTIAL OILS IS:
Janice who said, "Martha, you are truly a GODSEND, as you have inspired me through healthy cooking. I committed to 2018 with WW online, drinking more fluids, walking 3 miles a day ( I am a retail manager and probably get more than 3!), leaving my worries at my doorstep, smiling more, focusing on my renewed daily spiritual connections, doing little things that make my team happy with any expectations, and yes, taking time for my “ME ” time. I have also "played" around with essential oils due to tremendous back pain, and have found some relief. Thank you for being so inspiring and great recipes!"
Congratulations, Janice!

Today I am dropping in with some food for thought...
"Where will you live...if you don't take care of your body?"
Good question, right? It is a variation of Jim Rohn's quote, "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live."
I first heard this powerful statement years ago at a Weight Watchers meeting. I've never forgotten it.
I used to be one of those people who spent much more time and energy taking care of my stuff - clothes, shoes, car, house, yard - than myself.
It's crazy when you stop to think about it. Spending so much attending to things that are easily replaced instead of YOU, which is irreplaceable!
Not any more.
I'm not suggesting that we neglect our stuff.
But, where "stuff" is concerned, I have learned to say, "good enough" and have moved myself way up on my priority list.
My goal is to get rid of as much extra "stuff" as possible to free up more time for all the things that matter to my body, my mind and my soul: cooking nourishing food, exercising, prayer, time with family and friends, and other forms of self care.
What about you?
Do you take better care of your "stuff" than you do your self?
Do you think about your body, mind and soul as your most prized possessions?
Is it time to shift your priorities and invest more in what really matters?
Spring, with its promise of new possibilities, is the perfect time for just such a reset!

Thank you, Martha, for your inspiration. Today's quote about deprivation is ME. I have had dessert every single day of my journey for the past year and have lost 64.4 lbs. I do not feel deprived. I feel WW is sustainable because I don't feel deprived. I AM a WW; I am not ON WW. Such a difference. Thank you for all you do for the WW community! I recommend your site to everyone!

I will take care of myself by drinking a minimum of 64 oz of water. I am going to find easy to cook but healthy recipes for everyday meals. I am going to find different ways to exercise every day so as not to get bored with my routine. I am going to schedule my exercise (put it on my TO DO list and set a time). I can find many excuses why I don't have time, but if I want more time on this earth I NEED to make healthy changes.

Your quote about taking care of my body because it’s the only place I have to live really struck me hard. I ha e been worried more about other “stuff” other than my body. I have A-fib and I have not been taking care of my body. I have been on WW for a while now but have not lost a lot. After reading your quote I realize that I need to take care of me and skip the calorie laden desserts and fatty meals. I am going to stick to a better way of eating with WW and exercise more. Thank you so much. Love your emails and recipes and meal ideas.

I will be taking better care of myself this Spring by getting my husband home from his 6 month stay in a Skilled Nursing Facility soon. I will not have to make the 150 mile round trip several days a week to go see him & take him to medical appointments so far away. I will finally be able to have some real "me time", take a long deep breath & relax!!!!
Linda
I will continue to follow a clean eating plan, walking and doing things that I enjoy!!!!

I will take better care of myself this spring by continuing to make good choices about my eating. More importantly I will continue to exercise in the variety of ways that I began on Feb. 19th when I rejoined Weight Watchers and keep trying to focus on how many times during the day that I sit or stand still and get moving when I realize it has been too long. Also, I have joined an online meditation course that encourages a daily habit of calm meditation. Lastly I have joined a book club to stimulate my mind and give me an opportunity to make new friends.

I am concentrating on fresh produce and eliminating foods that don’t leave me feeling well. I can’t wait for the weather to break so I can start this year’s vegetable garden.

Since on W.W. I am happy to report that I lost 50 pounds and have been maintaining for a little over a year. I would like to lose another 12 pounds so I would be at "goal" weight. Hoping this Spring that I will do it! Love your blog & suggestions 🙂

We just moved to a new state, and moved into our home on Tuesday. As I unpack, I am "decluttering" as I go. DO we REALLY need this? If not, it is going - fast! But it is not just the physical stuff. I have worked during the past year to develop healthy habits in cooking and exercise. NO weight gain during the move! Now, as I settle in, I plan to keep planning our healthy meals, exercise, and walk even more. I'm thrilled that there are walking trails right within our neighborhood, and a community swimming pool. For the first time in my life, I am excited to get on that bathing suit that I just bought (3 sizes smaller!!!), and jump in that pool! Finding this site has been part of my weight loss plan, and I'm down 25 pounds! I am enjoying a lifestyle update and change, and plan to keep it - and keep healthy! No more blood pressure meds, and a healthy lifestyle! Thank you, Martha, for those delicious and healthy recipes that you publish!

Thank you for this, Martha. This is the most thought-provoking thing I have read in quite some time! This spring I plan to take care of myself by switching from online WW to meetings. I have lost seventy pounds, but want to lose about thirty more. I have also been trying new recipes which has been so great.

Thank you for all of the hard work that you do! To answer your question, I plan on taking my granddaughter to the zoo and spending lots of time walking and playing with her. We will both benefit from the exercise and fresh air. I will also be doing water aerobics and swimming. Doing this and continuing to eat and drink healthy will help me take care of my body.

I plan to significantly reduce the amount of sugar that I consume daily and to increase the number of steps that I walk each day.

I too enjoyed reading your post and how I may apply it to my life. I've been working on simplifying my life. My goal is to be active at least 30 min. a day, along with nourishing meals. I really enjoy your site and I have tried many of your recipes and sometimes they are really hard to believe that they are WW. My husband even eats the recipes without complaints....LOL I have shared your site with my kids, so that they may have healthy nutritious meals for their families. Thank you for giving us food for thought!!

Thanks for the incentive. Martha. Taking more care of myself starts at the beginning of the day I’ve decided to write a manifesto that includes many positive affirmations and I will wake and say those positive affirmations in my head. I will also be writing those positive affirmations on post-it notes and placing them in important places so I get to read them every single day over and over. I will believe that I can, manifest all of my dreams by taking action. Drinking 3 L of filtered water a day, walking my dogs twice a day and having walk by myself every day. Lots more salads. And ending the night with those positive affirmations. Thanks so much for the inspiration that you offer here. Martha, you have a very big generous heart, thanks kindly Katie .

I'm very excited for spring, because soon I will be 65 and will be able to sign up for dial-a-ride so I can get to the grocery store and buy a week's groceries at one time. Also, I will be able to do Silver Sneakers, it will come with my Medicare health plan. So I'm expecting to be able to have better meal planning as walking to the store I can only bring home what I can carry, not that great. And also get some good workouts at a gym. I was walking every day, but in the winter I couldn't, it was too icy. Yeah!!!
Melissa Roller
I will exercise and eat healthy foods this spring. I want to get my BMI down. Thanks for the opportunity to win the contest too.

The timing of this post couldn't be any better. I just found out I am on the borderline of diabetis. I don't have it....but I can prolong it if I take better care of myself. That means changing the way I eat and exercise. I have to make this a priority now. The last few days the weather has been absolutely gorgeous for it. I do plan on enjoying the weather more when I can. I also plan to take a little more extra time for me to spend with family and friends in prayer, and do some of things I like to do like paint and scrapbook. I have always been taking care of everything and everyone else. It's time to take care of myself and make myself a priority. It has been hard but I have been making progress.

I have finally shaken off the blues that I felt over the winter, and I'm back to walking. I also have a girls' weekend ahead that is motivating me to get back on track, counting points!

For the month of April, I will quit far#ing around and track honestly, and drink water. I have been a WW member far too long to be where I am. I weigh more than when I began. Aurghhhh!
I will do good clean cooking this month...nothing fancy. Hubby will love that!

I have been working for Weight Watchers for almost 8 years. The last year has been hard to say the least. I’ve had to take a step back and take a long look at my life. I have taken a LOA from WW and rejoined as a brand new member. It’s time to get back on track.

I appreciate the alone time that I get. It gives me a chance to reflect and reset my day. I get up at 4am just so I can get my 2 mile walk in everyday. I love being alone with my dog and my Lord. It gives me joy!
