THE WINNER OF THE GIFT CARD & ESSENTIAL OILS IS:
Janice who said, “Martha, you are truly a GODSEND, as you have inspired me through healthy cooking. I committed to 2018 with WW online, drinking more fluids, walking 3 miles a day ( I am a retail manager and probably get more than 3!), leaving my worries at my doorstep, smiling more, focusing on my renewed daily spiritual connections, doing little things that make my team happy with any expectations, and yes, taking time for my “ME ” time. I have also “played” around with essential oils due to tremendous back pain, and have found some relief. Thank you for being so inspiring and great recipes!”
Congratulations, Janice!

Today I am dropping in with some food for thought…

“Where will you live…if you don’t take care of your body?”
Good question, right? It is a variation of Jim Rohn’s quote, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
I first heard this powerful statement years ago at a Weight Watchers meeting. I’ve never forgotten it.
I used to be one of those people who spent much more time and energy taking care of my stuff – clothes, shoes, car, house, yard – than myself.
It’s crazy when you stop to think about it. Spending so much attending to things that are easily replaced instead of YOU, which is irreplaceable!
Not any more.
I’m not suggesting that we neglect our stuff.
But, where “stuff” is concerned, I have learned to say, “good enough” and have moved myself way up on my priority list.
My goal is to get rid of as much extra “stuff” as possible to free up more time for all the things that matter to my body, my mind and my soul: cooking nourishing food, exercising, prayer, time with family and friends, and other forms of self care.
What about you?
Do you take better care of your “stuff” than you do your self?
Do you think about your body, mind and soul as your most prized possessions?
Is it time to shift your priorities and invest more in what really matters?
Spring, with its promise of new possibilities, is the perfect time for just such a reset!

Thank you, Martha, for your inspiration. Today’s quote about deprivation is ME. I have had dessert every single day of my journey for the past year and have lost 64.4 lbs. I do not feel deprived. I feel WW is sustainable because I don’t feel deprived. I AM a WW; I am not ON WW. Such a difference. Thank you for all you do for the WW community! I recommend your site to everyone!

I plan to take better care of myself this spring by walking more and letting go of stress. Everyone’s lives these days are hectic, crazy, full throttle, always on the go. I’m going to let go of as much stress as I can and learn to relax.
Good morning Martha,
Great inspiration and such a good reminder. For me as a women I take care of many others and things that I am always on the bottom of the list. I want to just stay on track with tracking my food, cooking more and sticking with WW. i have become so distracted that last 15 pounds seems like forever to get off.
Interesting you are giving away Doterra oils they are my favorite and again trying to get back in that overall healthy routine!!!
Thanks
My husband and I joined weight watchers 6 years ago and I have lost almost 90 lbs. We belonged to the YMCA for a while, but stopped going. We just rejoined & have made a wellness appointment to assess how best to utilize our membership. My husband is diabetic and is in much better control with a 16 lb loss, which he is maintaining.
I am going to hang tough on WW and begin an exercise regimen!
I have not taken the best care of myself. I am a WW online member. So this Spring to take better care of myself I plan on planning all my meals, take the time to do my daily devotion/prayer time and to continue to move this body with some type of workout. I know I need to take better care of myself so that I can be here for my husband, children and family. Love this post.
My Spring will be a rebirth for me. I will be focusing on myself…my health (meditating, clean food choices, drinking water instead of soda, and physical activity), my home (cleaning out the “stuff”), and my heart (living in the moment, being happier, being lighter).
This spring I want to concentrate on cooking more. I enjoy cooking meals but feel like due to time and other priorities, cooking ends up one of the things that I nix. Taking the time to make a meal and enjoy the food I make is my goal! 🙂
I had already decided to re-charge my efforts for spring, but got extra incentive last Thursday. My husband and I received the devastating news that he has stage 4 non small cell cancer and the prognosis does not look good. I have to take care of myself, body and mind, do I am able to care for him. My afternoon walk has now become therapy for me; a chance to clear my head. I don’t know what lies ahead… it’s all I can do to stay focused on today. Wishing everyone a blessed Easter.
I am making time to move my body this spring season, prioritizing it over less important tasks. It’s paying off already, I sleep better and have more energy! Thanks for your work, I enjoy reading it.
Martha, I truly think you said it best….”My goal is to get rid of as much extra stuff as possible to free up more time for all the things that matter to my body, mind and soul: cooking nourishing food, exercising, prayer, time with family and friends, and other forms of self care.” , and I thank you for these words. My plan is to continue some of the good things I’ve started and get more focused on the priorities you mentioned.
