It’s a collection of my favorite dips and spreads, both sweet and savory, hot and cold, made lighter and healthier. A few of the recipes, like the Creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip, have been published here on Simple Nourished Living in the past, but the vast majority haven’t.
Dips and spreads are my go-to choice when I need an appetizer that’s more involved than a dish of nuts or olives.
They’re quick, easy, and can usually be made ahead.
The only problem is that many traditional dips and spreads are really high in fat and calories and way too filling to serve before a meal.
When it comes to desserts and baked goods, I usually prefer the kind made with real butter and sugar, but with dips and spreads, I actually like the lighter, healthier options more. (I cut back on fat and calories where it doesn’t matter to me so much to save them for where it does.)
