(30 Days of Juicing Day #6 – Carrot Apple Ginger Juice)
This is a personal favorite juice recipe that I’ve been making for years. It’s so simple to make, and easy to modify too.
The taste is easy to change by using different types of apples and by varying the amount of fresh ginger root.
Did you know that according to a study published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, a research team lead by Dr. Jan Oszmianski determined that “cloudy apple juice contains more antioxidants than clear.”
It seems that in order to increase the shelf-life of apple juice and to make it more visually appealing, many companies process out the juice solids to make it clear. As explained by Natural News, by doing this extra processing, they are also removing much of the nutritional value since “juice with pulp has four times as many polyphenols as clear juice.”

The Skinny on Carrot Apple Ginger Juice
The version I happened to make this morning included a Granny Smith Apple and about 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger, along with 4 carrots.
These ingredients gave me just about 1 cup of fresh juice, perfect for a single serving which I enjoyed over ice.
Remember that juicing different sizes of fruits and vegetables and different juicer (affiliate link) machines will yield slightly different results.
According to my calculations, each 1 cup serving of Carrot Apple Ginger Juice has about 69 calories and 2* Weight Watchers Points Plus.

Can’t wait to try this juice! I had no idea clear juice was less nutritious than cloudy. Good to know.
