Today I’m sharing a 17-minute yoga practice perfect for all levels from beginners to advanced. It is a great way to lighten up and uplift your spirits any time you need it. And you don’t even need a yoga mat! It’s so much easier to eat right, lose weight and take care of yourself when you are happy and this is a super easy way to get you there!
I just finished this short gentle yoga practice from Olga Kabel and found myself grinning from ear to ear by by the time I finished. It proves that a yoga practice doesn’t have to be long and serious to provide powerful results.
Sometimes all you need is a few minutes of movement, a few minutes of conscious breathing and a few minutes of inner focus to get yourself ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.
The practice in this yoga video includes seven minutes of movement to warm you up, five minutes of focused breathing to get you energized and focused, and five minutes of light-hearted meditation to get you smiling.
Great as a stand alone session, this simple yoga routine can also be customized or expanded if desired:
Need to energize your body? Add a few Sun Salutations or some of your other favorite moves in the first part of the practice, and then continue with the breathing and meditation.
Want to include more Breathing Exercises? Take longer to move awareness through your body’s energetic centers and breathing into them in the second part of the practice, and then finish with short meditation.
Want to spend more time meditating? Take time to greet every organ and tissue within your body in the third part of the awareness practice.
Customize it any way you want, or leave it the way it is if you only have 17 minutes to spare – it is entirely up to you. Just try to approach this practice playfully and have fun! I believe it will lift your mood and leave you smiling just the way it did me!
