This wonderful Fat Flush Juice Recipe comes from Linda Wagner’s blog.

She lists some great benefits of juicing, including:

  • Maintaining an alkaline environment within the tissues in our bodies
  • Increased absorption of vitamins and minerals
  • Liver detoxification
  • Giving your body a break from digestion

The Skinny on Fat Flush Juice

Thanks to the pink grapefruit and tangelos, this juice is an excellent source of vitamins C and A, antioxidants and phytonutrients.

There was even a fad diet in the 70’s known as the Grapefruit Diet. According to foodfacts.mercola.com, “Eating half of a fresh grapefruit before meals was associated with significant weight loss and improved insulin resistance.”

According to my calculation, this juice recipe provides about 130 calories and 3* Weight Watchers Points Plus per serving. (I’m only counting the juice from the grapefruit and tangelos to determine calories and points. I’m not too concerned about the negligible calories from the chard, lemon and mint.)

Ingredients 

  • 1 pink grapefruit, peeled
  • 1 tangelos, peeled
  • 2 leaves chard
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 1 small bunch mint

Instructions 

  • Wash all produce thoroughly and chop into sizes that will fit into your juicer (affiliate link). Juice all ingredients and serve over ice.
