Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
Hello, my name is Jaime Dellipizzi and I’m from Medford, NY.
I’m 36, 5’4″, my starting weight was 397 lbs. in January 2017 and my current weight is 252lbs. A total weight loss 145 lbs. in 9 months (02/17-11/17)
My goal weight is 165 lbs. My weight ballooned after turning 25, I tried every diet, couldn’t lose weight and keep it off.
I started the Ketogenic Lifestyle and committed!
I lost 150lbs in 9 months and have another 85lbs to go.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
I attended a weight loss surgery seminar at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY 02/14/17. I got so scared from the seminar, I promised myself on the drive home that I would change my life forever.
I was killing myself with every bite!
I started a Ketogenic diet the next day. I limited my carbs, eliminated sugars, breads and starches from my diet.
I started walking, then swimming, now alternate gym and swimming.
I’ve lost roughly 50 lbs. every 3 months. I’m now at the 9 month mark and only 87 lbs. from my goal weight.
I have no more knee / back pain, can fit into every chair at my office, can dine in any booth at any restaurant!
I forgot how wonderful shopping for new clothes is!
Most importantly, I wish to encourage and inspire my friends and family with my weight loss journey.
I have a book in the works that I hope will inspire the WORLD!
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
I keep my eating at 20 grams of carbohydrates or less each day.
I eliminated all sugars and starches and breads as well.
I eat protein and vegetables at every meal and practice Intermittent Fasting.
I’m on this Ketogenic Lifestyle for Life!
I’ll never go back to my terrible eating habits—I feel so good, so young and full of energy!
What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
Prior to the Ketogenic lifestyle, I led a sedentary life with no exercising whatsoever.
I started walking 4-5 days/week, up to 3-4 miles under an hour.
Then I started swimming 90 min/day, 4-5 days/week.
Now I go to the gym to lift 30 minutes before I swim and spend 45 minutes in the pool 4-5 days a week.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
The biggest change is my psychological connection to food has been broken. I no longer reward myself with food and I don’t lean on food when I’m frustrated or sad or depressed.
I eat to live, not live to eat. I use food as an energy source to propel me through my day.
