I hid my binging eating from everyone, including myself, my entire life.
The day I learned what Binge Eating Disorder (B.E.D.) was, I knew I had it.
I also knew I had two options…
Be honest with myself about my food addiction and get the help I needed.
Or, continue to let the guilt and shame sabotage every area of my life.
I went vegan for ethical reasons and like so many vegans, gained weight in the process. I knew if I wanted to change my body, I'd have to change my mind, so two years later at 210 lbs I joined Weight Watchers.
The program had the the structure I would need while I figured out a way to stop the record of doubt playing over and over in my head. Now I just needed to figure out a way to make it work with my binge eating behaviors and "junk food vegan" diet.
My "all or nothing" personality kicked into overdrive allowing me to quickly "crack the code."
I've been maintaining an 80lb loss—and in the process—discovered my life's purpose and biggest passion: Be open about my deepest, darkest secrets with binge eating and use my techniques to Support, Motivate, and Inspire others with similar stories.
