1sheetFrozen puff pastry, thawed (such as Pepperidge Farms)
1tablespoonall purpose flour
3mediumapples (about 1 pound)
1/2mediumlemon, juiced
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar, divided use
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
2tablespoonslow sugar apricot jam
Instructions
Position the oven rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat to 400°F. Lightly dust a flat surface with flour, then lay the thawed pastry sheet on it. Gently roll out the pastry into a 14" x 10" rectangle. Carefully transfer the pastry to a baking sheet and refrigerate while you prepare the apples.
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples into 1/8"-thick slices, then place them in a medium bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice and gently toss to coat, preventing browning and enhancing flavor.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar evenly over the chilled pastry. Neatly arrange the apple slices in overlapping rows on the pastry, leaving a 1/2" border around the edges for a clean and elegant finish.
In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon with the remaining sugar and sprinkle evenly over the arranged apples. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender. Remove from the oven.
In a microwave-safe bowl, stir the jam with 1 teaspoon of water and microwave on high for 15 seconds, until smooth. Brush the warm jam mixture over the apples and crust for a glossy finish. Cut the tart into 12 squares and serve warm, or let cool and serve at room temperature.
