Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Lightly grease the bottom of an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick baking spray.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the brownie mix, water, oil and egg until thoroughly combined.
Pour, or spoon, the mixture into the prepared pan and spread into an even layer.
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out almost clean.
Cool brownies completely in the pan before cutting into 12 squares.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container
