Before we can make lasting change we need to accept where we are and become aware of our current behavior.
One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself is to keep a simple food, mood and activity journal. This is meant to be a tool for LEARNING and DISCOVERY. So, while what you ate is important, HOW you felt before and after eating is MORE important.
I suggest you get a notebook/journal and begin keeping track of the following parameters at least for a few days:
- Length of meal
- Amounts of food and drink
- Where and with whom
- Feelings and energy before eating
- Feelings and energy after eating
- Type of activity/exercise
- Length of activity/exercise
- Location of activity/exercise and with whom
- Energy and emotions before and after activity/exercise
Please know that you are not broken. You have all the resources you need to make the changes you desire.
There is a reason and positive intention behind every behavior. There is no one way to lose weight, there are thousands.
And always remember, there is no such thing as failure, only feedback.
Every situation is an opportunity for growth and learning.
