Specializing in small home-based cooking and baking classes in a fun, comfortable, un-intimidating environment. Conveniently located just minutes from I-51 and Glendale Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.

Taught by Martha McKinnon, a passionate home cook, who has been cooking, baking, studying cooking, taking cooking classes, and attending culinary vacations for more than twenty years. In addition to home cooking she also has worked in several small restaurants and as a personal chef. She believes that cooking shouldn’t be painful. The key is to keep it simple.

Martha’s small home-based cooking classes are perfect for new cooks, busy professionals, experienced cooks looking for new ideas, and anyone wanting to learn the secrets of preparing simple delicious dishes quickly and easily. Her relaxed style, friendly manner, and easy, elegant do-ahead approach to stress-free entertaining and home cooking helps students relax and have fun, while gaining kitchen confidence.

All classes are 2.5 to 3 hours in length and include a short introductory review of what we will be doing, preparation, generous sampling and copies off all recipes.

Great easy recipes for holiday treat that fun to make and share. We’ll make Dorie Greenspan’s All-In-One Holiday Bundt Cake (a perfect dessert throughout the holidays), Easy No-Bake Maple Cranberry Crunch Bars, Quick & Easy Chocolate Microwave Fudge, and White Christmas Snack Mix.

Holiday Gifts from the Kitchen
Tuesday 12/9/08, 6:30-9:00 pm, $45

Gifts of food are a tasty thoughtful present, especially at Holiday time. Simplify your life by making delicious food gifts that are both useful and economical while avoiding the stress and hassle of searching for gifts at the mall. We’ll make Chocolate Dipped Macadamia Brittle, Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti, M&M Oatmeal Bars Mix, Cherry Almond Granola, and Lentil Rice Soup Mix (perfect for the health conscious on your list.)

Healthy Cooking with Ellie

Start the new year off on a healthy note! We’ll sample recipes from The Food Network Ellie Krieger’s cookbook, The Food You Crave. No steamed vegetables here…just fresh food simply & deliciously prepared. The menu includes Mushroom Barley Soup, Orange Pistachio Wild Rice Salad, Mushroom, Onion and Spinach Quesadillas, Jewel Roasted Vegetables, and Pear and Ginger Crumble.

Quick & Easy From the Pantry
Tuesday 1/22/09, 9:30 to noon, $45

Gotta have dinner on the table in 30 minutes? Discover the power of a well-stocked pantry in this fun and informative class. On the menu: Creamy Tomato Basil Bisque, Taco Chili, Salmon Cakes, Easy Baked Ziti, and a Quick and an Easy No Bake Dessert.

Cancellation

Cancellation more than 72 hours prior to class will be credited toward a future class. Cancellation within 72 hours of class will not be credited. You are encouraged to send someone in your place.

We reserve the right to cancel any class. Students will be notified of cancellation and a full refund issued.

Gift Certificates

Cooking Class gift certificates are also available. They make a perfect birthday, shower, anniversary, or holiday gift.

Private Classes & Parties

We also provide private classes for small groups of 4 to 8.
