Do we really wear only 20 percent of our clothes 80 percent of the time? It seems hard to believe, but studies say it’s true for most of us.
How many of your clothes have been languishing in your closet for years? Do you have items with the tags still on them? I am guilty on both counts. Who hasn’t made an impulsive clothing purchase they’ve later regretted?

I have been an avid reader of Janet Luhrs’ Simple Living newsletter for years. It began back in the late 1990s when I read her book, The Simple Living Guide, a thoughtful practical guide for how to simplify our busy lives and live more deliberately. According to lawyer turned simple living advocate and writer Luhrs, living simply is not about being frugal, living on a tight budget, or a modest income; it’s about being fully aware of what we’re doing and why we’re doing it so we can have lives that nourish us.
